It strikes me that today we've seen SW as the coach he is. I will happily stand up and say that he's the right coach but he is inexperienced at the top level. Tony Smith has out coached us today and found a way of beating Wigan by targeting certain areas and playing percentages. SW on the other hand can create a style of play, that if it works, blows teams off the park and we look like the best team in the world. When someone finds a way of shutting that down, we simply have no other ideas. I think that's a coaching issue. If we can't win one way, we'll find a way of winning another way.
SW doesn't have a plan B. Until that's sorted, we are always going to struggle in big games.

And on another note, I could really do without Wiggy getting all excited and climaxing every time he gets to say that Warrington won. I haven't heard such blatantly biased commentary for a while.

And finally, Ganson. Pretty much faultless. A few errors yeah but generally he couldn't have reffed that much better, credit to him.

The point is, regardless of our massive points advantage, our league position, regardless of the number of times we've played like the Harlem Globetrotters, the fact remains: we have played only 2 matches that count for anything. And we bottled both of them.

Watched SW in his post match interview and for the first time, I got the impression he hasn't got a clue how to deal with this!

Why we keep running up the centre against big teams I don't know, we have pace outside but don't use it,
Sam was just not inthe game again, and finch? Well why he played I don't know
Too many stupid errors, I think our left side is weak and gelling or thornley are not cutting the mustard at the minute

There's no doubt that many things Wane "got away with" in the reserves do not and would not work in the SL. His promotion was based on playing juniors and giving them their chance, yet he seems reluctant to do that since the Widnes defeat to the point we see first team players not 100% playing with the results being detrimental to the team.

I sincerely hope this doesn't continue with the impending returns of Fielden and Richards (and Lulu) until they ARE fully fit and playing to a degree of standard before they automatically gain their first teams places back. I still have doubts that some players are carrying knocks sustained from the Exiles matches also!

Really poor - especially from the start. We were out muscled in the forwards and out played in the backs. It's not the fact we were defeated; it's the nature of the defeat. Our handling was diabolical and we gave away to much easy possession.

I am sure the thought of denying us the hub cap will be all the motivation stains need to raise their game. Where is the team from earlier in the season? It was a different team tonight.

I have a nasty feeling that despite leading the way for most of the season; it's going to end like it did last year - with whimper (and this time no CC).

I'm going to send a mail to sky about the twat they employ; no commentary would be far far better than the rubbish we had to sit through tonight.

pure and simple basic rugby, pack goes forward leaves space for backs to do some magic, today our pack was very weak against a dominant wire pack, how many times did we have the ball to be driven backwards and then on the next tackle lose the ball.

simple rugby pack sets the platform backs take the chances and glory, today as bedfore wires pack set the platform, for wigan to chase the game

gutted but lets see what the playoffs bring, if we are to get to the grand final we will need to play 100% better than today

Ok so we didn't beat them but we are still 1 point clear. For some reason the 'experts' seem to think Warrington are guarenteed to win their 3 remaining games, however, London away the week before the CC final is not going to be easy especially as London have hit some form and Hudds at home the week after the CC final is not easy again Hudds have hit some form. They also play Widnes away last game which as a derby and just before the playoffs anything can happen. Our fixtures are not easy either but with 10 days rest to Salford, then a week off till Hull KR, hopefully some key players back fit, think we can finish in style ready for the play offs by smashing Stains at home again. In a nutshell I would prefer to have our finish than Wires, having said that they are playing well.
