Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Well Wane rates him:
Wigan coach Shaun Wane has identified Australian stand-off Blake Green as the biggest threat to his side's chances of topping Stobart Super League on Friday night.
Rovers' player-of-the-year in 2011 was forced to sit out the first three months of the season after discovering a blood clot in his calf but he is now back in tandem with his half-back partner and fellow countryman Michael Dobson.

"They have been up and down but the big difference is Blake Green now he's come back from his illness," said Wane.

"Blake Green and Michael Dobson are two great halves and we've got to make sure they are under pressure.
So either way Shaun Wane likes Green so if this is going to happen it will be another Epalahame Lauaki in that the coach sees a player he rates and f*** the keyboard coaches

It's in today's Observer saying we are close to signing him having decided against Chase and Soward.

My first reaction to hearing this rumour was 'who?'

He may be a good player but we've got a 'good' player in Sam Powell. This as a signing is not making much sense to me. Let's hope there's a hint of the George Carmont about this and he turns into a world beater.

There's no excuse for a club not to build a squad with as much depth as possible. Powell impressed in his debut but he hasn't got much experience and to make him a first choice halfback would be a massive risk. We've got Williams and Hampshire coming along nicely but at 17 there's also big risks involved in having those two as back up players.

If Smith got injured we'd be relying on Powell and Williams/Hampshire and that's not a good situation to be in no matter how promising the youngsters are.

We definitely needed to sign a replacement for Finch. Blake Green, while not a world beater, is still one of the best halfbacks in the league at his best. The injuries he's had this year are a bit of a worry but he's a rarity in that he's a player who has come over from the NRL and been an instant hit in his first season.

Scott Dureau didn't exactly cause much fuss when his signing was announced at Catalans but this year an awful lot of people were saying he should be our number 1 target to replace Finch. There's not much difference between Dureau and Green in my opinion, except that Green has been unlucky with injuries this year and that's prevented him from making many headlines while Dureau was catching the eye for a very strong team.
Good post Cherry.

This year we have not had enough competition in the halves or at hooker, some of that is due to injury but it is also due to the fact that our recruitment/development plan has been found wanting. George and Rocky are outstanding prospects and I believe that both will play at the very top level but they are lads barely out of school. The club is trying to fast-track them by selecting them for the under 20s but the level of competion is poor. In all honesty, I think that it will be 2/3 years before we see their emergence, although I do expect them to make their SL debuts next season. I like Powell and I think he will start to push Smith and Blake (if he signs) for a regular spot next year.

Micky Mac has been outstanding this season but he now looks as though he needs a break but unfortunately Tomkins is not ready to step-up yet - certanily not agianst the big boys. Powell again could play a useful role in the number nine shirt.

Given the essential role that the pivots play in any team, I would like to see us make two more signings. The recruitment of Smith and Blake would, in effect, only balance the books when we need to strengthen our options.

Reading the comments between the Hull KR and Hull FC Fans I read this interesting post
Who has instigated this move, the player or the club? From Rovers point of view they have a key player who is settled here and intergrated into the team, I can not see them thinking that Burns is better option. The fee from Wigan must be substantial for Rovers to consder this.

Do Rovers know something about Greens injury problems that they are not letting on and are cashing in?

Only the player and club know the answers and I doubt it will fully come out. Would be interesting to know though
I seriously do hope that if the rumours about the possible signing are true then he does pass a very rigorous fitness test
