What's the point of killing yourself all season to be top of the table & not recognised as the Champions??
Wire should have been declared champions last season imo.

GF and the play-offs are only money making matches.

Completely agree :)
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I've said for a long time that Briers is the difference for Warrington. But he just keeps going year on year!
I think we are reading to much into this game, some of there players had wemberly on there minds and who can blame them. There performance against us was second to none and they were far beter than us I am sorry to say, I cant see us getting back to the form we were in before that stupid exiles match.Evan if all our injured and walking wounded sudenly became fit, we seem to have lost our way and something just is not right with our plays. The play offs are almost upon us and after that preformance against Wolves I am far from confident of us reaching the grand final let alone win it. We should win the miner premiurs, but I feel warrington have sacrificed that to win at wembley and the grand final. Smith I am afraid to say is streets ahead of Waney tatically and he has had the better tatics this season, lets hope we learn by it

Do you think Wane will stick out reserves for the game against Saints?

Just think about the basics... pick our strongest team each week and we'll be fine. Pure rugby.

also agree, Wire as far as the league was concerned last season were head and shoulders above the rest, 1000+ points on the board but Leeds Whino's from 5th were declared Champions? Pathetic!

To be honest I would not like to assume he would have the luxury of resting players v Saints. The teams form has been erratic enough for us to screw it up v Salford or HKR.

But assuming we don't screw it up and we have the league in the bag before the last game I would not be surprised to see some comment from Wane about beating Saints being his duty so out would trot the entire first team.

I think the situation we find ourselves in shows what a folly it was to make so many changes for Widnes away. Wire did us a favour v London and had we beaten Widnes all we would need would be a home win v Salford to get the league. Wane could then rest the likes of Micky Mac for the last two games and use them to get the returnees fitter.

As it is even with Wire losing we probably will still have to win two out of the last three to be sure of the league leaders shield. We should have had it in the bag.

I don't understand what you're complaining about at this stage Dave O. We are top of the league and just need to win 2 from 3 to stay there. Nothing in our form this year suggests we cannot do so. In doing so, we will at least match our record under Madge, and this with a rookie coach and a team shorn of a lot of experience. If the last 2 days have shown us anything it is that it is hard to use your squad so that you beat everyone as even the bottom teams can come and give you a hard time. Ask Wire and FC. You quote Widnes repeatedly, but every team has had at least one Widnes moment. You criticise Wane for not rotating his squad and then blame him for having misjudged resting players on one occasion. Things go wrong for all clubs over the course of the year. The best team is the one for him things go wrong on fewest occasions.
Wane has done and is doing a brilliant job. If anyone had said at he start of the season that, at worst we'd have to win 2 out of our last 3 games to win the LLS, we'd all have been ecstatic.

Weaken team against stains would be a mistake. Remember the likely hood is we have to beat them back to back. We beat them they come fourth. We repeat that the following week. We get a week off and could even meet them the next game, ( selection. Three consecutive stains derby matches. Then Leeds in the final.

That's a very fair and valid point about SW.

What it also seems to show this season that if the top 4 clubs, say, put their best sides out - they can always beat the rest of the table. But if the top 4 clubs weaken their teams - they are likely to be turned over.
Probably means that basic teams are more equal but if you have star players - that really makes the difference. Hence the conundrum - how do you keep your best players rested and in peak condition when they need to play every week to ensure that you win all the time?

Glad I'm not a SL coach but I think SW learnt that lesson with the Widnes defeat early on and other coaches are only just catching on.
