Re: SACK SW NOW
I said at the beginning of the season that i did not want SW as our coach,he has proved that his way of coaching is all about passion and going out from the kick off and blitzing the opposition. When this does not work he has no plan B.Australian coaches are miles in front of us and our next coach must be from down under.Having said that Wane must not be sacked,he should be given time to see if he has the qualities to win us the GF /and or CC it would be unfair not to allow him to try.I very much doubt it though.

Re: SACK SW NOW
The OP has a tendancy to post stuff like this in times of doom and gloom but has sparked debate. Wigan have lost out on over £1/2m this year by not making it to a final. Although we have been great in attack and defence I believe Warrington are the better team this year. I fear for our recruitments for 2013. We need a big name signing for us and do we have any? No. The Wigan Head Coach is the cruelest seat in the sport whoever is coach we fans expect trophies it's part and parcel of being Wigan. If it isn't delivered then bye bye whoever is in charge and it will come to that at one point. The problem is seeing it in motion with IL as we havent had a chance yet - Noble was an exception.

Re: SACK SW NOW
sack shaun wane? you pissed or on drugs? seriously why sack waney? its his first season as a first team coach and only learned of maguire who was also learning to a certain degree.
seriously some of you negative fans need a good luck in the mirror and ask yourself are you really a fan and if you are you will realise that after 1 season by a rookie coach finishing top is not worth sacking. next season he will learn that finishing top doesnt mean nothing (ask tony smith? he could get away with putting under 19s out for least 4 games and save his top stars and still be in top 8.
sacking waney is not the option. make rfl realise that playoffs is becoming a joke and should be scrapped.
IN SHAUN WANE WE TRUST!!!!!!!!!

Re: SACK SW NOW
If memory serves SW has 1 year left on his contract. If you were IL would you be looking now to see who may be available for 2014 or, based on what you have seen in 2012 would you be prepared to give an extension?
Re: SACK SW NOW
Cumbria Warrior - I agree with you..
'' at end of the day 5 tackles up the middle and a poor kick will not win us anything, once again super league top scorer never seen an attacking ball''
I posted something similar a couple of months ago, but it fell on stony ground. Come February 2013, if the same ''tactics'' apply then Swane should supply his wingers and centres with fur shirts to keep them warm through inactivity.

Re: SACK SW NOW
SW had definitely made a cardinal sin in playing a rookie in fullback.
As a coach you just don't do that, ESPECIALLY in a semi final cup match.
Don't have a problem about Murphy, he has potential and played well in parts, but he spilled the ball 3 or 4 times under the sticks. All evidence that you just DON'T play a rookie in the most important match we've had this season!
SW could have chosen 3 or 4 players to fill Sams role. Richards? Finch? Leuluai? Charnley? Most bizarre fact that Charnley barely even got the ball!
Did SW attempt to switch player positions through the match? Did he ****!
The fullback is prob the most key player in the team, after all he receives the ball 99% of the time when the opposition kicks.
SW has made a few duff decisions this season and a few good ones. Should he be sacked? His judgement is definitely in question in high profile games, which we can never seem to win!

Tony Smith can put his under 19s out for 4 matches?????
He prob can. Guess this puts the salary cap question straight into the Wolves court, but let's not even go there!!!

Re: SACK SW NOW
I'm sure If we dig out posts from the beginning of the season, and look what people thought we would achieve it wasn't too far off.
Ok some possibly poor descisions from Wane but
League leaders
2 semi finals (damm Leeds) 1 very close
For a first season as head coach not a bad season to be fair ?
In terms of players leaving probably most out of madge's hands
Fielden - how many people on here wanted him to stay? Not many
Carmont - retiring
Finch - going home
Tommy - as above
Lima - again prob not a huge amount he could do about this one
Now we have questioned his choice of players coming in, however previous ones have gone on to surprise us so I'm willing to trust in him
Next season I think a lot of lessons learned from this one, roll on Feb

His signings could be great, all the saints fans i know keep telling me that we have sugned a star in the making in Matty Smith, Blake Green is Hull KR srar man and he proved how valuable he is when he got injured and their firm dropped
