We shouldn't use 2006 as an excuse for disappointing seasons subsequently IMO. We had a brush with relegation but didn't get relegated, so what? That is history and we have already set higher standards with a GF and Cup win since then and so its against those seasons 2012 should be judged not 2006 and is why people have ended up disappointed.Wigan Warriors No 1 fan wrote:I think that if you had been offered the sucsess we have now in 2006 you all would of taken it.
In any case the end of the 2006 season was more entertaining than the end of 2012 in my opinion. We were on a role then and I reckon had we actually made the play offs (which we nearly did) the rest of the league would have been scared stiff of us. The teams form was on the up. No one was that worried about playing us in the latter half of 2012 and form was going down.
Statistically 2012 was miles better than 2006. That's obvious. So why doesn't it feel like it?
