brynmon - I might get accused of hijacking this thread, but since you asked the question.
Yes I am from Whelley - 129 in fact which was next door to St. Stephens Junior School.
Don't know a Minny, certainly had an auntie Lily. Father was Leigh mother Kathleen.
Any more info I think we should start a new thread. OK my friend?

Re: Wigan's predicted finish.
You know what? Warrington 'were' the better side last year but a new season is a new season. The tide changes most years and you doubters may never know - our lads might surprise us.
So we have a load of young players? Sam was a 'young player' once and go look at him now (Man of Steel), Josh also a 'young player' until filling the number 2 shirt (now top try scorer). Lets not get down on the fact that we have no new 'top players'. These can soon all be 'has beens' and wear and tear can change a career. We have age on our side along with experience that comes from loyal ex players. The majority of the coaching staff are Wigan born and bred too and that counts for more passion in my books then 'bought in' talent.
Winning on the back of a struggle, effort and hope is more rewarding then winning because you bought your way there and sometimes the chase is more exciting then the win!
I can't wait - I'm with you all the way CougarDeb - Bring the new season on!

This is completely off topic and I think the mods should get involved and sort this out, you can PM private conversations Ron.Ron Doran wrote:brynmon - I might get accused of hijacking this thread, but since you asked the question.

Re: Wigan's predicted finish.
DaveO please tell me how you are so good at looking into the future? Yes our signings are not as good a standard as previous years but neither is SL. In the last 3 seasons we have clearly won more games than lost and I am sure that will continue in the upcoming season. Are you ever positive about anything? Fair enough you might be a realist but come on Dave lighten up and give the squad a chance, they deserve that.DaveO wrote:Do you enjoy watching Wigan get beaten and playing badly?AlanF wrote:Well said CougarDeb,I'm with you on this one. It's as I've said on another thread, people seem to have forgotten how to go to a match and just enjoy the game. :eusa2:
Do you prefer watching quality players or plodders?
Are you indifferent to the result?
As far as I am concerned there is no enjoyment in a game where Wigan are playing badly and looking poor. Your post suggests there must be. What is it?
I can't recall anyone who sits near me watching us get beaten with a smile on their face. Most people leaving matches were we get beat are pretty fed up. There wouldn't be much point in following the team if you are indifferent to the outcome.
I know to some people the game is almost secondary to the social side of meeting with friends and having a pie and a pint but I think there are few clubs who have poor sides with a large support. By this I mean if Wigan have a poor season I'd expect the crowds to drop and if they do the reason will be - people not enjoying the games.
