I do think IL put a positive spin ,club wise, of coarse thats what all teams do. It's not like players get praised and then called like this is a first, it happens all the time in sport it's just spin.
Last year went sour, why I dont know but at the start of the season we played some of the best rugby I have seen. Something went on at the club maybe more than one thing. I still can't get round though why or how people can take one side on this over the other? it's the same thing the story given to them is puting a spin on things that makes those actions seem reasonable. The IL statement is quite strong you can read into it what you want. The thing to come out of this is Hocks already shady reputation is again in question it always will be his actions on and off the field over his time at Wigan have made it so, he has only his self to blame, for every pro Hock story you can read half a dozen negative ones.
I loved watching Hock rip into teams I even liked the biff part of his game at times. A real shame what could have been a all time great on the feild will now be just a what could have been.

there is a lot of spin here, both in the earlier statements and in this one. When is the last time a sportsman was sold/sacked that was preceded by a consistent string of stories about how they are under performing and need to improve otherwise they will be sacked? what actually happens is that the stories tend to be glowing with praise to deflect any media pressure on the situation. This could easily explain the earlier press releases.

This doesn't however rule out an underlying issue that the club should be actively investigating. The best thing about where we are now is that nothing is final. nww developments could see hock back at Wigan, or on his way out with the club gaining suitable compensation.

It's about time this thread was locked.
Hock has gone to Widnes. Fact.
The club have issued a statement putting all the blame on Hock.
If anybody believes all that crap they must be green as grass.
CP is correct (as is usually the case)in what he says.
Hock as been forced out for reasons that may or may not come out.
It certainly is not for the reasons stated in in the press release by the club.
Believe it or believe it not. It's time to leave it alone.

12 Months?? More like 12 days

Ok, so Hock did not like his immediate boss (SW), well in my 45 year working life I have not always liked my immediate boss. But I enjoyed my job,the Chairman of the company was always more than fair and I felt that I owed him something in return.
Sadly this does not seem to be the case in this instance. Sorry you are going Hock, but I am also sad that it appears you are unable to appreciate all that the club has done to help you.
Thanks for this Lorenzo, you saved me writing something similar!
Best shot of him.

To 29wes28 about SW and Hock

Hock going to Widnes.

Another example of the shocking man management skills of our incompetent coach SW.

IL could only achieve damage limitation by sending him to a lesser club.

The frightening thing is; if Hock has had enough; so much so that he's left the club, what the hell has he done to the rest of the team spirit? No wonder we've been hammered in the pre-season games.

A decent first coach could and should take responsibility for this disaster in the dressing room.

Can't disagree with this. Situation has highlighted SW's shortcomings where man-management is concerned and I can't see it ever getting better!
