Re: Hughes to Salford on loan
Isn't it funny how......
If another fan posts that his best mates sister who is friends with a shopkeeper's daughter who is "in the know" at Stain Helens because she once went to Knowsley Road to get Sean Long's autograph where she remembereds a fan site twitter and read that Sam Tompkins may be about to sign for the Stains; it would be ridiculed for the utter crap that it is. This is no different and Wigan have no reason to off load more first team squad players
What next - we are over the salary cap? :eh:
Wigan fans get in a right tizzy over such utter bolloxwarrior49 wrote:It has come from a City Reds fan who got it from someone who works at the SCR club..no smoke without fire...

We are not even sure if Sam's going to play much if you read Wane's comments about him leaving - so which is it?cherry.pie wrote:Yes he is, which means he'll need plenty of Super League experience before Sam leaves and he'll only really get that if he goes out on loan.

I think that decision makes perfect sense. Sam's form dipped a bit at the end of last season and he started picking up knocks. Considering he's likely to be playing several extra matches at the end of this season in the world cup I don't see the point in making him play more games than necessary. It could have a negative effect next year assuming he's still with the club.
I think the players who might make the England side will need to be rested a few times during the year.
I think that should read 'Sam started picking up knocks and his form dipped' - in that order. But yeah, makes sense to get Murphy more games in SL this year if we can

Think there is a big mix up with the Jack's!!
It's Jack Murphy not Jack Hughes that "may" go on loan to Salford.

Salford signings: Six new faces could join this week
Salford City Reds could announce up to six new signings this week when Dr Marwan Koukash completes his buyout of the club.
Dr Koukash's takeover is expected to take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Ed Farish is in line to be appointed the club's new chief executive.
Dr Koukash is also set to announce he has also taken over a significant controlling stake in the City of Salford stadium at Barton.
He has held talks with Salford City Council on this matter and is set to work closely with land owners Peel Holdings.
Salford have again been strongly linked with the highly rated Wigan Warriors youngster Jack Murphy.
Coach Phil Veivers confirmed he was interested in Murphy long before Dr Koukash stepped in to rescue the Reds.
Murphy could be set for a season long loan spell with Salford.
Salford have also been linked with players from Australia. They will of course need visas and may miss the first month of the new campaign because of this.
John Wilkinson who is standing down as chairman is expected to return from a business trip to China in time to hear what the future holds for Salford under Dr Koukash.
Wilkinson will be offered the role of life president.
The prospective new owner has insisted on his buyout announcement coinciding with the unveiling of new arrivals for what is an important season for the Salford club.
He is said to view this as an early statement of intent.
Reds kick off Super League on Friday night at home to Wigan.
The Warriors are said to be on the lookout for an experienced centre and could be active on the transfer front themselves this week.
