faith in wane
I've heard lots of negativity from wigan fans about the town about shaun wane .... but my opinion is that this is wanes team, players he has signed and others he been in the process of development with through different stages within the club and after him progressing through the coaching system, does anyone agree he should be kept on long term even if we have a trophy less year to build up back up after 3 massive seasons for the club
Re: faith in wane
Win loose or draw, it is nice to see the Wigan born lads giving all for the town.

Why do you think he should be kept on if we have a trophy-less season? And for how long after that?deancartwright1990 wrote:I've heard lots of negativity from wigan fans about the town about shaun wane .... but my opinion is that this is wanes team, players he has signed and others he been in the process of development with through different stages within the club and after him progressing through the coaching system, does anyone agree he should be kept on long term even if we have a trophy less year to build up back up after 3 massive seasons for the club
My view, regardless of my own opinion, is he will be given his one year extension but he will have to deliver a trophy this year or next and I don't mean another LLS.

Odd thinking but hey each to their own.deancartwright1990 wrote:I've heard lots of negativity from wigan fans about the town about shaun wane .... but my opinion is that this is wanes team, players he has signed and others he been in the process of development with through different stages within the club and after him progressing through the coaching system, does anyone agree he should be kept on long term even if we have a trophy less year to build up back up after 3 massive seasons for the club
I presume you advocated sticking with Brian Noble too and that Madge was an horendous mistake. You then say Wane has been the key person in junior development at Wigan for umpteen years and should be reqarded if they then fail.
Re: faith in wane
Does it matter where players are from. Sam is not a Wiganer. Micky Mac is not a Wiganer. Lee Mossop is not a Wiganer. Tuson is not a Wiganer. Flower, Dudson, Richards, Green, Smith are not Wiganers.Ken wrote:Win loose or draw, it is nice to see the Wigan born lads giving all for the town.
Guess what Ashton, Boston, Sullivan, Hanley, Bell NONE where Wiganers.

cpwigan - You say that Sam is not a Wiganer, I don't know his pedigree so what is he? Please don't say Scouse!!
E.& O.E.
Re: faith in wane
Sam was originally from Milton Keynes. His father worked in the police force I believe. He then moved to Warrington, then Chorley, then Wigan.Ron Doran wrote:cpwigan - You say that Sam is not a Wiganer, I don't know his pedigree so what is he? Please don't say Scouse!!
Therein lies the farce of this Wigan born obsession that many fans have. If you want the best then you will only find the best by scouting for natural talent over as big an area as possible. It exists but is untapped in RL's case. For example Saints have a schoolboy who hails from Wolverhampton. Family moved North, never played a game of RL until then. Cliff Watson IIRC was a southerner that answered an advert in a newspaper. Look at wingers, Offiah = London, Boston = Wales, Mick Sulivan = Yorkshire, Robinson = Yorkshire, Mark Preston = Fylde, Charnley = Chorley, Carney = Ireland.
Some of the greatest natural RL talents will never play a game of RL in their life.

Do you have to be so negative all the time?

Re: faith in wane
I believe that Wane actually had a bigger hand in the success that Madge brought us than others would have you believe, at the time i wondered this and now watching games and the overall results from last year make it even clearer in my mind, The way some fans on here and the other site rattle on about Madge is unreal, he was not the saviour of Wigan, he did have a hand in it but so did Wane, it was Wane that had worked with the youngsters including superstar Tomkins, yet because Madge is an Aussie he is seen as some Golden God in the eyes of some, Wane will show us the way, keep the faith in Shaun Wane
