New Signing.

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Back on topic, I am trying to find a name for you. The info came from one of if not my most trusted source. He has been right 99.9% of the time.

A&L has a wierd sense of humour. IMO he did not mean anything by it. I too googled the player he named after his post BTW  :) but I chuckled to myself finally remembering it was A&L. It is not easy being a moderator BTW, some of those complaining have found so here or elsewhere (me included). Hell, even Josie has gotten grief in the last couple of weeks.

Personally, I am more worried if Lockers is going to be fit for Friday!

I don't disagree he has a weird sense of humour, but this wasn't "humorous" but another attempt to derail a serious post from a user (namely you) - the same comment again, after his last "joke" went too far and ended up locking the thread.

Rumour Mill it may be - piss take out the fans it is not. He should show more common sense before deliberately posting incorrect information under the guise of "fun"

I think if A&L's sole purpose is to derail every thread then his position as mod must be reconsidered as it is more than highly irresponsible. It brings the entire forum into disrepute this cannot be simply described as "high jinx" it is stupidity at its worst
An overreaction, but he did lock a thread after the flack from people who didn't enjoy his joke the first time round so maybe unwise to make the same joke again.

Anyway, I'm not sure why we feel it's our duty to help out Wales RL but if Powell did come to league it would be a boost in interest levels for them ahead of the world cup.
Derail how? Its called irony the thread didn't go OT. Adam Blair or Powell? Only one can be right so get ready to have a go at the OP on that. Lighten up. Plus I must have had some qualities if peers recommended me as a mod, some having a go have warnings, again ironic.

I think Powell has the legs but Blair seems a better option.
A&L I think you should check the difference between "irony" and lieing! You made a blatant statement surrounding a certain player in the locked thread and then reiterate that player's name in this thread. How is that ironic?

From a different source, Andy Powell has been mentioned.

Wouldn't he be too old for the U19's?
How would he get the experience needed to play first team?
Surely he wouldn't be the necessary squad strengthener we need as he would only signing midway through our season and would have little (if any) matches to play apart from straight in the Wigan first team

I hope not cp, I don't want him taking the place of one of our young lads :(
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Me neither. Rather give Crosby and Spencer game time. The young players usually have far more potential than a stop gap unless the club know somebody off the radar in the NRL or an existing established quality player with a transfer fee. Whatever the possible scenario, sometime injuries can be a blessing in disguise as long as they happen now than closer to finals etc.

I almost gave up hope Greg Burke would ever get a chance and Logan shows if you are patient and keep giving youngsters game time they blossom. RL is a very short career for healthy young 'fully developed' bodies not battered old bodies.

Not my idea of a good signing if it is Powell (3 year deal too!). I think IL saw the writing on the wall when he first arrived. Trying to sign top drawer established players is nigh on impossible, even the Dr at Salford has found that so I think. Far easier / sensible to invest in young players. I wish the RFL/Clubs would collectively do so more than they do. I am convinced potential stars of RL are even virtually on our doorstep but will never play a game of RL.

and what if by play off time he proves himself to be a player as good or similar to Craig Smith, would you still not want him in the side

Same here. Greg was getting plaudits back when people were speaking highly about Ben Davies and I thought he might end up the same way. Glad he got his chance and took it well!
