I would agree with the title of this thread if it were a home match. The JJB is still a fortress to Saints but to be honest I don't think we have a hope in hell at Knowsley Road. The squad's confidence is on the floor and they are going into a very intimidating environment against probably the strongest team in SL this season!
I just hope we don't get too badly mauled and we can leave with some respect and concentrate on the remaining league matches.
I'm done with supersticions this year as I've said before. Last week Isaid I'd be happy if we at least gave Leeds a game, we didn't so my hope for giving Saints a game has gone completely. We haven't the confidence to go out there and up our game enough to beat them at the moment. We desperately needed to at least come close to Leeds in order to have a chance. I hope so much that we come out and play like it's the game that could send us to div 1 for a few years but to win would be a miracle. Looking at once again the players that will be out this week, we're doomed.

Firtsly Jim, fair play to you for going on Sunday. I have the greatest respect for the real fans who watch and support Wigan win, lose or draw. So fair play to you.
Now, I must disagree with you that my attiutude is not that of a defeatest but that of a realist. Wigan are simply not good enough. Wigan will be beat. Doesn't matter how much you shout Come on Wigan, they will be beat. It's no shame, Saints are a decent team Wigan are not.
The whole things about Wigan now is rebuilding...so COME ON WIGAN... rebuild then we can challange again.
Now if you want the team to know that I think they will be stuffed, by all means pas son the message. They are grwon men and professionals so it should not concern them one bit. They should be focused on the job in hand. They should believe they can win...

As for the tennis...well that only last two weeks and Wigan have as much chance of winning the mixed doubles in that as they do if beating Saints... so keep the season ticket, watch the tennis and enjoy.

Just a point about Saturday - I am led to believe that the air conditioning on the team coach wasn't working. This would have been like spending 1 1/2 hours in a sauna prior to playing ,not good preparation.

Come on everyone, no more negative talk this week, lets look forward to putting one over our scouse neighbours!!!!
For the first time in my life I would greet a loss to Saints as a blessing.
If we win, we have another match to play in the CC at least and I don't think our threadbare squad I can take it. More opportunites to pick up injuries while our rivals down at the bottom have another week off.
What do you want? A victory over Saints in the cup or SL rugby next season? I don't think a win over Saints does anything to help us secure the latter. Just the opposite.

But what would a win in the heart of our enemy do for moral though Dave0? If we get well and truely ****ed over again the boys will get really down and then the likes of Widnes and Wakefield will start to phase them. BUT if we put one over on the Saints we might get some conviction back, and start playing much better - like we know ever player can do at the moment!
I for one, will still be cheering for the win!
