SACK SW NOW
Re: SACK SW NOW
Can we stop with the super long quotes.
Madge cleaned out a culture and identified staff he wanted and brought them to the club I.e bitcon, no Madge no bitcon also Madge looked at our youth in his 1st year and used them he also won trophies in both his seasons here.
Madge is a very good tactician, he also likes putting his best attacking threat at FB a trait that many coaches over here have tried to copy.

Good point Gimble. Madge was a superb coach who took us to the top level but he was the 'new kid on the block' as far as coaches go so understandably he was after success at all costs.thegimble wrote:
Madge left over a year ago Crosby and others have come to full development now. And they were in the club more than likely before Madge got here. Madge stopped using youngsters and stuck to his main squad during his last season here. First season the shirts were up for grabs last season he did not promote many into the first team squad.
Its a bit of a red herring to say its Madge and Bitcon. After all it Was Madge, Bitcon and Wane not just Madge given your using Noble and Madge in an attempt to prove your argument.
Wane also wants to secure Wigan's long term future. Something no Aussie coach could ever be interested in. OK, he overdid it at Widnes and took stick but if Josh hadn't missed that last goal, we'd have heard no more of it.
The end result is we have strength in depth most coaches would kill for!
BTW, would it kill people to delete the yards of post they are not specifically replying to? Some of these posts are becoming ridiculously lengthy, especially when CP has been in full flow!

Agree with Wes re never ending quoting. I like reading Dave O but his albeit correct quoting broken up technique means it gets weary at times.
Gimble. Wane has been at Wigan a long time. He was here whilst Noble was here. The team nearly got relegated and was not in a great place. Noble was deemed not worthy of another contract so something must have been wrong and Wane was part of that failure.
Pure conjecture this next BTW but did Wane fully support the likes of Noble or was he content, even willing to undermine these people to advance himself. It happens in all our walks of life, so why not in a RL club.
Madge brought by IL and Bitcon brought by Madge transformed the place. Trophies delivered. Madge leaves and the trophies dry up as yet under Wane. It's not rocket science is it.
BTW I think Madge should have blooded more youngsters and he was not perfect BUT he was at a level beyond Wane.
Wane needs to deliver a CC or a SL GF win to earn himself a new contract. People criticised Brian Mac at Leeds but he delivered and once you do it makes you far far harder to criticise.
Wane needs to prove himself and I hope he does because if Wane fails we all fail.

Apologies for the bold bits. I thought it might be easier to follow than the DaveO method!cpwigan wrote:Agree with Wes re never ending quoting. That was me!

People criticised Brian Mac at LeedsNo-one more than you. IIRC, after he won the GF, you said that was the worst thing that could happen to Leeds because now they were stuck with him! but he delivered and once you do it makes you far far harder to criticise.

You copied Wes. He said the same

To those fans that think young players playing is a carefully planned masterplan

Shaun admitted he had been delighted with how some of the young players had played and fitted into the side seemlessly this season,
"I am playing some of the young players more that I expected to be honest.

And who would they be? Everyone is aware of our injury situation. The way the young players have stepped up to the plate is a silver lining none of us dared hope for.cpwigan wrote:To those fans that think young players playing is a carefully planned masterplan
On another thread, someone asked what would happen when our first team is available. I suggested we might already be watching our first team!
