Totally agree, the club needs to do it's upmost to keep the current squad.

Looking through that list of players out of contract next year.

My obvious choice would be Tom Briscoe, bags of pace and strong as an ox.

Only if they don't extend Paddy's contract, to be honest though, he lacks a little pace these days.

With Matty Smith available now for kicking duties, WOULD WE MISS HIM.

The list shouldn't be thought of a completely current and up to date - I'm pretty sure Tom Briscoe has signed for the Cronulla Sharks for next season, for example

Retain the players we want to keep and try to sign a winger rather than a centre/winger. Winger/FB would be better than a centre/winger if Murphy is no considered up to it.

I would imagine Carberry and Gelling and Prescott and possibly Murphy are under the biggest threat no to be retained.

We would definitely miss Paddy. He's been in great form this season, and those that are writing him off as 'past-it' are a little premature imo.

I would keep Greg Burke, Dominic Crosby, Gil Dudson, Ben Flower, Darrell Goulding, Harrison Hansen, Rhodri Lloyd, Jack Murphy, Pat Richards, Logan Tomkins & Chris Tuson.

Not sure about Liam Carberry, Tom Spencer as not seen enough of them, as for Anthony Gelling is he worth keeping around with so many young guns coming to the fore.

I would offload Paul Prescott as he is a liability and replace him with a big experienced battle hardened prop if we can find one

I'd like to see Tom Spencer stay too, but the issue would be how often he would get to play, especially with the new under 19s rules. Richards definitely deserves a contract extension, as IMO he still has a big part to play, even if it's just an extra year.

Dan Sarginson is one who stands out for me. One for the future.
Read good reports about Brad Singleton.
Mickey Paea has always impressed me at Hull KR. If Lauaki ends up leaving I'd love to see us sign him to boost our young pack.

OOC for Wigan: Greg Burke, Liam Carberry, Dominic Crosby, Gil Dudson, Ben Flower, Anthony Gelling, Darrell Goulding, Harrison Hansen, Rhodri Lloyd, Jack Murphy, Paul Prescott, Pat Richards, Tom Spencer, Logan Tomkins, Chris Tuson.

Plenty there I would sign up to long-term deals. Others still have a lot to prove. Do you stagnate the contracts so we don't have players coming OOC all at once in the future?

What would YOU do?
Out of those ooc, I'd like us to retain everyone bar Prescott. I've not seen enough of Carberry and Murphy to comment really.
It would be a big blow to lose H
I think we still need an experienced forward, probably a versatile forward who can play prop or second row, but I have no suggestions.

As say there are plenty of players out of contract. Initially the club needs to know where players futures lie eg Is Hansen going to New Zealand, is Sam going to honour his contract, will Prescott get over his injuries etc etc. The rest pretty much follows from there.

Gelling as has all ready been pointed out, is unlikely to be retained due to him being overseas and also over aged when not in the first team. Carberry, Lloyd, Spencer and Murphy must also be strong possibilities for being released for either not playing enough for Wigan's first team as it stands or having other players of similar or better ability available. The rest I am assuming would be top priority to be retained

I see it as not simply retaining players for retaining sake, but of giving them an opportunity to obtain a good professional career elsewhere

the only 2 that stand out for me are Sarginson from london and maybe Broughton from Salford.

of ours i'd retain everyone with the exception of Gelling and maybe Preccy.
