To the doubters like Ron look at the date when the rumour was created and the date when Powell was first mentioned. Well in advance of any newspapers or other web sites.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, I cannot understand the signing.

It's a puzzlement that's for sure!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

It can only be for the internationals, nothing else makes sense.josie andrews wrote:cpwigan wrote:http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... an-2546270

IL has said in the past something along the lines of , the only way RL can expand and get the exposure, we needs to boost the international game

Mystified personally. I would much rather have a winger/FB.

Re: New Signing.
Wigan need a big rough Prop Forward in the mould of Graham, Morley, Peacock etc.
Re: New Signing.
Fantastic signing for the club, not only on but also off the field, this signing will do Wigan a lot of good in the long term

Why is that the case? Do you not think RU Premiership teams take fitness serriously? He might need a break as he's been playing this season and some time to adapt, but there is no reason I see to claim he'll be unfit.mickw wrote:Just what we need a 31 year old inexperienced probably unfit prop.a real pat on the back for our young props, our coach has a prop fetish.
Though, yeah, the 31 year old inexperienced bit makes the move questionable. Time will tell. Older props like Peacock and Fielden are still going at it.
I'd send him out to South Wales for the bulk of the season to let him get a bit up to speed with league and also help that club out for publicity etc.
