The media call Rugby Union, Rugby because it is associated with the establishment and as the media is owned or controlled by people who are part of the establishment, it will never change.

I remember a while ago raising this with Richard Lewis. Didn't get much response - now there's a surprise!

Perhaps a way round this would be to have a joint (RL + RU) supervisory Board comprising members from each code e.g Chairmen + others, which called itself "Rugby" with both codes underneath this umbrella. The object being to address areas of common interest.

I think we need to stop thinking of it as different 'codes' and start thinking of it as different 'sports'.
