Warrington 1/3 games lost farce of play off looming?
Well so far we seem to consistent week in week out and Warrington have lost one third of their games.
Is this a case of them not taking the early rounds seriously and then peaking at the latter rounds?
This would make a complete farce of the system yet again!

Another negative thread, great!
I highly doubt Wire are losing on purpose and given they haven't won a grand final I highly doubt they will from outside the top 4, IMO the table reflects their form.
They have had no Morley or Briers for weeks and Hodgson is injured now.
I suppose Saints are losing on purpose too.

It didn't look like like Warrington wanted or were happy to lose last night!!

I'm not suggesting anyone wants to loose but some coaches seem to be experts at ensuring their team peaks towards the end of the season and their earlier form seems to be transformed. Seen in to many times for it to be luck.
let's just towards the end of the season.

It may be considered negative but it is the truth. The regular season is now just about player development.

I think we have to be very careful here, a coach will always expect the team he picks to go out and win that game. Now, whether he has picked a team capable of winning that game is another suggestion. For a coach to let a mindset into his players that the result doesn't really matter is dangerous ground and could ultimately have a negative effect in the end. For me the reason why Leeds have finished 5th recently is because their squad isn't as strong as some others but their first 17 is as strong plus they have big game mentality. Warrington have lost more games this year due to injury and in my opinion not being as good a side as last year, not because they aren't bothered about finishing 1st. Will they be there or thereabouts at the end of the year, yes probably!

A lot of truth in what you say TB but to me SL is like the end of the PL season only worse. You can see no matter what coaches / players say the truth becomes evident out on the pitch. Compare SL with our mission impossible season finishes, perhaps it was then still the same as it is now for many clubs but mot the top and bottom ones.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:I think we have to be very careful here, a coach will always expect the team he picks to go out and win that game. Iagree with I H and CP Wigan. For me,at least, the integrity of the regular comp.has been undermined by a play off comp (with a skewed criteria) eithin a comp set to measure a teams consistancy throughout the entire season. The facts are clear to see:How can a team eg Leeds be called Champions when they only finished 5th in the league not once but twice. It defies logic. Further,I endorse Smith's critique of the powers that be. LEAVE THE GAME ALONE.STABILITY IS WHAT IS NEEDED NOT new schemes. Oh! find a league sponser quickly

When every new season begins, the very first TV game of the season sees the Sky muppets refer to 'the business end of the season'. By implication, the other games are meaningless other than to decide who makes the top 8!

I don't disagree with CP, Kitt or Jim in terms of the regular season being nothing more than pre season for the Playoffs and later rounds of CC. I am only saying that Coaches will want to win every game, however, if they don't and while not doing include players for development and rest older players then I am sure they will take that.
