He's a diva. Boo-hoo. I'm not picked.
He needs to take a look at himself and ask question 'what can I change in my behaviour to coaches and players to get in'.

Whether you like it or not, Chase is in, regardless of where he comes from. Danny Brough doesn't get to get picked just because he has a greater degree of English blood in his veins, he gets picked on the form he demonstrates in the England setup. If he's so good, then he can prove it in the team; if he doesn't want to do that, it's up to himTrueBlueWarrior wrote:He should feel honoured?i'm spartacus wrote:Did I say he wasn't ?TrueBlueWarrior wrote:So on current form he isn't head and shoulders above Chase and Sinfield?
What Tony Smith is saying is that he should feel honoured to be in the mix, and regardless of what he does at his club, he has to have the attitude once he's in the mix, to show he is the best man for the job. If he thinks he's too good to do that, the he has the wrong attitude.
Showing good form at a good club with good players around you is one thing. Showing good form at a club with players that are average is another. Do you think Richie Myler would be anywhere near an international call up if he plied his trade at the London Broncos?
Rangi Chase leads the league in try assists in a team that is ten places below Huddersfield and who have scored far fewer tries. I wouldn't pick Chase for England, purely on the fact he isn't English, but as he is in, Brough would have to show he is a better man.
Why?
Because he is playing the best RL of his career in a team that is flying high in the SL only to know he is going to be behind a New Zealander and a Loose Forward for HIS country?
Truly Honoured!!
He's in form in a form team with form players around him. Yet he can't lay on more tries than Rangi Chase who is in a team of consistent losers. Being picked for your country is an honour, not a right, and throwing your toys out of the pram because you're not first choice is an indicator of his attitude.

Re: Brough turns back on England....
Brough is not a great player in fact far from it, however he is certainly standing up to the challenge Anderson is setting him at Hudds at the moment. If it was 2 natural and English HB's being picked before him that had current form as good as his then fair enough but sorry there isn't. Just another negative, Macnamara is in charge who is clearly useless, so I stick by what I said, I don't blame him one bit, I actually wish some more players would that have been shit on from a great height by Mac, he is clueless!!

....and Chase is a Model professional is he? That represents the country with Honour and Pride? A place in the national team is rewarded just on try assists? Is that all being a HB is about?i'm spartacus wrote:Whether you like it or not, Chase is in, regardless of where he comes from. Plenty great players here and in Aus/NZ have spat the dummy over coaches and team selections Rich.weststand-rich wrote:He's a diva. Boo-hoo. I'm not picked.

Exactly CP, and like I originally said I don't blame Brough one bit. He must have become disillusioned with Macnamara and no wonder. Any man that picks Ablett as a centre before Goulding is clearly inept and Brough probably thought what's the point!

Re: Brough turns back on England....
Where do i say he should get rewarded just on try assists or he's a model professional? Chase is performing in a team that isn't performing, he tore England to shreds and was man of the match in the exiles team when he played against England. The true measure of a players ability is to create and perform in a team that doesn't perform and Chase is doing just that on a week on week basis.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:....and Chase is a Model professional is he? You just don't get it! He should turn up, earn his place and show them he is better. You can't do that if you walk away because you're not the one and only half in the team.
I don't like Chase and he ain't English, but he can perform on his day and he wouldn't see his arse if he didn't get picked

Re: Brough turns back on England....
No you don't get it, plenty of players have turned up and shown they are better only for Macnamara to say thanks but no thanks, someone who isn't as good as you is playing because they are 'a favourite'! You was going on about try assists for Chase that is why I said is that all that matters as a HB! Finally Chase doesn't see his ass? Are we talking about the same player here? The one who went MIA for his club? The one who when things aren't going right PURPOSELY tries to decapitate people with his elbow? If he was that good and does so much for a poor team like Castleford, why is he still there?

Re: Brough turns back on England....
He can eff off then.
He is arguably the form half back in SL this year. Doesn't he think that is good enough to be in with a chance?
I know the coach is a twit but having more than two players available for two positions is not normally a reason to spit the dummy.

Probably knows that if Sinfield is injured, then Widdop is before him in the World Cup - and quite correctly.DaveO wrote:He can eff off then.

Don't always agree with Tony Smith's philosophy, but I do in this instance. Plus a World Cup needs cool heads, which I suppose is something Brough not too hot in.
For Hudds, he plays behind probably the biggest pack in SL and this is always a bonus for any half. Plus he's been a trouble-maker everywhere he's played.
