Brough turns back on England....

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

I completely understand Brough' s attitude. Chase is not a great player, he looks good in a poor team. Brough is head and shoulders ahead of Chase this year.
Chase has a bad attitude, goes missing for large parts of the game and on the rare occasions he makes a tackle,it's usually head high and injures someone.
McBanana has something against Brough, and I don't know why.
It's time someone asked why this idiot got the England job after how badly did as a club coach.

He is arguably the form half back in SL this year. Doesn't he think that is good enough to be in with a chance?

I know the coach is a twit but having more than two players available for two positions is not normally a reason to spit the dummy.
Probably knows that if Sinfield is injured, then Widdop is before him in the World Cup - and quite correctly.

Don't always agree with Tony Smith's philosophy, but I do in this instance. Plus a World Cup needs cool heads, which I suppose is something Brough not too hot in.

For Hudds, he plays behind probably the biggest pack in SL and this is always a bonus for any half. Plus he's been a trouble-maker everywhere he's played.

Will say it again, has Chase got a 'cool head'? And Chase is NOT a 'trouble maker' no?

Are we all forgetting Chase's history, yes Brough is no angel but compared to Chase he is!!

I don't want Chase anywhere near the England Team either !!

Just trying to make the point that the only REAL choice for '6' is Gareth Widdop, a natural Stand Off (unlike Sinfield) who possesses great speed and kicking game as well as probing the gaps for support players. Was MOM for Melbourne Storm today, who had all their Origin stars playing (including Ryan Hoffman, who, btw had a great game.)

Just fearful that they'll go with Sinfield for the World Cup on the proviso he's captain, so pick him on that basis.

...and on that basis I don't blame Brough for turning his back one bit, because Macnamara is clueless. If the England RL set up was managed correctly and players were picked on current form, with good discipline and structures etc. then yes Brough would and should fight for his place but it is not.

Completely agree about Widdop.
