What a game!!
Well done lads. It's good to see you stick it to the Saints and it's even more sweet when we were 20 points down. Wish I could have been there to watch it.
Well done again.
Well done again.

Re: What a game!!
That was a cracking match, and even better we were 20 points down once we got our roll on late first half and early second half we played brilliant rugby league!
The older experienced players like Faz, Lam C.Smith and Newton (who showed cunningham whos best) blended so well with the younger players who were on the end of some great play to score tries especially Robinson and Brown and as a whole team we showed how well we can play, the ref wern't that bad either, i could praise the lads for ages but i won't droun on!
We did the Derby Double!!!

Re: What a game!!
I must admit during the first 20 minutes I was sat with my head in my hands thinking this could turn out bad. But what a cracking comeback.
Superb performances after the initial slow start from Lam, Sculthorpe, Newton and Graham again, but what a night for Kevin Brown and Luke Robinson!!!
I have just a couple of things to say to the Wigan Board...get Brown on a 5 year contract, never mind two! and Sign up Graham permanently!!!!

How good was that match!! Even though we were down in the first few minutes (or 20...) it really didnt feel like we were gonna lose it. Thought C Smith and O'connor played really well and ended up makin some good ground and the atmosphere was so good.
Although im sure when I watch it later, sky sports will have turned us down, trust me we didnt stop singing from about 50 minutes before the match and 50 after.
Well done lads!!!!! :>

Re: Re: Re: What a game!!
Have to agree a great game, but if we would only back up when players make a break we would score more trys. Even school kids know to back up their fellow players, but the Wigan players would rather stand their and watch the player playing one man rugby. Saints (loving known as the Shite), scored the majority of their trys by backing the player with th ball up. It was a great victory from 20 down, but it would been even better if, with a little backing up, we had scored a couple of more trys and put somme more nails in Millwards coffin.
Re: What a game!!
Fantastic. I was sat in the stand with all the saints about me. The first 25 minutes were harde work with the plastic scousers giving me some. But after they couldn't take it after we had won that is. What about that pillock with the mike at half time going on about the wigan walk. The only walk I saw was a Saints walk. Like I said fantastic. Must agree with captinjack though we need to back the player with the ball more. All for putting nails in the moaning Millwards coffin

Fantastic, amazing, unbelievable, absolutely everything you could want in a rugby league match.
Have to admit after the first 20 minutes I was abit worried, especially them scoring straight from the kick off (just the same as the play off last season) that put us under pressure immediately.
Put all credit to the lads for putting up probably their best performance this season. To come back from 0-20 in Saints backyard, great !!
Even better as Millward had no cause to complain as a majority of the penalties appeared to go in Saints favour.
The whole team were great, however special mentions to Lammy, Newton, Scully (Danny, of course) and all the kids.
MAURICE !! PAY ATTENTION. Rip up that two year deal Kev has just signed & sign him up for five years, that guy is going to be a star.
Also well done, Luke Robinson (Comic Book hero man) a hat trick at Saints, it doesn't get any better.
Am I the only person who wants Millward to stay at Saints so we can watch their gradual slide down the table (HA, HA, HA !!)

Re: What a game!!
wow////... unbeliveble.! after 20 mins i was almost turning it off.. i really was.. i thought it was gonna be 50..
i dunno how or what but what a comeback!
everyone of those players deserves a pat on the back.. ( & a day off!)
from 25 mins to 60 mins i thought we played some of our best rugby for quite some time..
thought the mix was right, youth & experience & they combined well.
to score 36 unanswered was fantastic!
the youngsters wanted it, they wanted the ball & the win... none of those expencive saints stars wanted it the same way.. we have that hunger!
we all know we have a good youth system & that when they come through they are gonna be dangerous.. didn`t expect it to come into fuition so soon..
agree that my only gripes from the game were they heart attack for the first 20. & the lack of follow up to offload.. apart from that CLASS!
no one has given him a mention but i though hock was brilliant last night..
i`m over the bloody moon!!!! well done lads!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Re: What a game!!
I think everybody was the same and after 20 mins thought it was going to be a case of how many saints would score. I don't think we were helped by some dodgy refereeing decisions but the lads showed real character and pride to fight back.
Luke's two tries either side of half time were vital - if saints had have scored first in the second half we probably would have lost. Once again it was the kids enthusiasm that took over and blew saints away.
Lam was superb, all the props never stopped running, Graham had his best game so far ( definately deserves a contract). In fact they were outstanding from 1 to 17 - my only slight gripe is that apart from his goalkicking i thought Faz had a quiet game - he did the basics well and didn't really make any mistakes but with his size and power he didn't break 1 tackle all night.
Overall superb - as good as good friday - infact probably one of the best ever wins against saints. Well Done Lads!!!!!
Long Live Millward!! HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love it when a plan comes together. It was great to see what a drug free team can accomplish. It must be upsetting for those Latics fans who phoned Wish FM wishing the Saints all the best,at least true Saints fans have pride in their town. I know I shouldn't gloat but I can't see where Saints are going to get their next win from.
