he has to pick the best 17 next week now. we need some cohesion and form going to wembley.

against the broncos we dropped a fair bit of ball in he first 10-15 but because they're crap we got away with it. if we go in against hull with no form or team understanding they won't let us off with a slow start.

If people are so interesting in watching Sam Tomkins in action I suggest you go down King Street instead.

If one player is the only reason why some fans are going to watch Wigan then why bother watching Wigan at all, players will come and go an lets face it, its the hard working players like Farrell and O'Loughlin who create the platform for Tomkins.

The fans were promised sam and they were let down badly. No lockers meant we needed sam more than ever.

When lockers is out you know for a fact it's true injury - Sam, well I just don't trust anything to do with him now in fact I'm bored of it all sick of him not playing for mystery reasons that only occur 5 minutes before kick off

I take your point but if there is anything in the conspiracy theories the club is as much to blame ans anyone for going along with them.

Myself I don't think there is anything funny going on.

What bothers me is simpler in that both Sam and Lockers needed game time so should never have been rested in recent weeks anyway. The fact both could not play tonight underlines that fact.

You're probably right dave and there probably isn't anything untoward but I get the impression the club feel like they won't sell a single ticket if they tell us Sam wont play.

We were told that Sam was playing all week - the reason given for him not playing was I believe a "slight" back injury. So he wasn't in the warm up therefore they knew enough about it to not let him even try and pass a late fitness test, therefore we should have been told he was unlikely to play.

Something just doesn't add up to me - the Sam Tomkins of 2 seasons ago often played injured but it seems like any tiny worry and they straight up don't play him. I don't know how this absences from games is sitting with the rest of the players but personally I see a lot of patched up broken bodies on he field giving 100% regardless.

I just grow a bit weary of being told on the day he isn't playing - he also needs to be careful Nrl won't want a sick note

This ploy of Wigans making out that Sam is playing all week so to sell tickets, then pulling his name out of the squad at the last minute, is no new thing. This used to happen on a regular basis with Billy B. They even went one step further back then and made out that he mite play for the A-team midweek jus to attract bigger crowds. Iv even been ther on a weds/thurs nite to watch, and when the compare announced Billy wasnt playing people would literally get up and go home!

I agree if we lose the final and then blow up in the play offs as we have no form going into them then i do think giving Wane an extension is a mistake. Starting to think that if a player is so important that he can not be played against the best side in SL its time he left. Sorry never-mind how good he is he is useless sat on his backside for a quarter of the season. This happened last season as well he or someone is choosing his games for him.
To my memory, he missed 3 games last season - Widnes away, Bradford at home, Leeds in playoff. I think if there is anything suspicious in his absences of late it is only this season that you can talk about. In fact, its only the last 8 weeks.

Sam was playing up until late yesterday afternoon, his shirt was on the peg in the dressing room. He suffered a back spasm and the medical team advised Wane not to risk him. No conspiracy.

Sam is getting injured far too much though. Wane ball does not help NOR does his lifestyle. He should be in a far better car than a Porsche to keep his body posture / back in good shape.
