Maybe Lenegan is putting Sam in a very awkward position. IF Sam has already signed for an NRL club, but Lenegan is telling him that, under no circumstances, must he divulge this to the media, then it's putting him in an awkward position.
All this flak that's being levelled at Sam, may not be of his own doing and he's simply following "orders".

Wigan / IL prevented NZ Warriors from releasing detasils of the signing until after the CC final. I presume Tomkins / Agent are similarly prevented until after the CC Final too.

Sam is going, SADLY for us.

That defence didn't work at Nürmberg and it won't work here!

Well here in OZ they are saying it is a done deal, NZW have stated in news reports that Tomkins has signed for them and he will play next year.. I am devastated, being a staunch Wigan supporter and a Melbourne Storm supporter, I am gutted to think that he will be coming to Melbourne to play against us, and to top it off I hate the NZWs with a passion :(

If he spends as much time injured as he has here, you will have nothing to worry about. NZ Warriors will have to print a few sick notes in advance, I think it is now 16 games he has missed this year.

Not quite the same thing really.Recently I have won a considerable award against my former employers for in my opinion constructive dismissal.Cot3 agreement forbids me from revealing the amount other than to my immediate family.Perhaps a clause is also in place restricting Sam divulging information till the seasons end or some such thing.Saying all this means not one jot as I would say that the biggest majority of fans already believe that Sam is already on the plane heading down under. Whatever the case he goes with a big thank you from me as a talent like his comes along very rarely. And we have been blessed to have him play for the most famous club of them all. :D

According to 3news.co.nz posted in the last 16 hours :
The Warriors can't officially announce they've landed
their long-term target until next weekend but players Agent Jim Banaghan's says he's got the inside story.

"The Warriors have signed Tomkins but they're not allowed to announce it until after Wembley because it's super secret and there's a trade-off between the Wigan Warriors and the New Zealand Warriors that can't be announced until the Challenge Cup final next Saturday," Banaghan says.

Tomkins is being touted at the next Billy Slater and will head to the Warriors with a rumoured transfer fee over $900,000.

You may remember Jim Banaghan was the guy thought to be the whistleblower on the Melbourne Storm salary cap scandal. At the time Banaghan denied
