Tomkins saga over as he signs for the NZW
Re: Tomkins saga over as he signs for the NZW
Hock will go to Salford; big money offer to him. The only stumbling block is the transfer fee being demanded by IL. Perhaps H is the one playing it clever by having the enforced year extension and nothing more.

IF a player wants to go the best policy is to let him go. For me letting SAM go now is good business we will have to learn to play without him. I think losing PAT will hurt us as much as losing SAM we need to buy a QUALITY centre a fullback and a winger. But where from I dont know, and I DONT THINK WE WILL HAVE THE MONEY ANY WAY

He means H is a free agent at the end of next year (even if we offered him a new contract) so if he wants to leave he can leave for free and take whatever offer he likes. IL has no say what offer he takes or what club he ends up at.Kittwazzer wrote:And that works how?cpwigan wrote:Hock will go to Salford; big money offer to him. Currently with Hock IL and Wigan hold his registration so if Hock wants out he has to go where IL sells him or stay put. If IL won't take what Salford or anyone else offers, Hock remains our player. Not worth the paper they are written on these contracts are they!

Exactly what Dave says KW
H will be in a better position both at Wigan or with other clubs without the implications of an existing lengthy contract. Wigan will have to pay a damn good salary to keep him and other clubs can factor in no transfer fee as to what they offer H. H becomes the master of his own destiny.

I reckon he will go to Wire or NRL. If a NRL can get him for no fee then i think he will go down under but in SL he is too good to go to Salford and play for them. I know the DR is splashing the cash but they will be top 6 at the most.cpwigan wrote:Exactly what Dave says KW

So the British talent is leaving us in it bucket loads, we have already lost George, Tommy, Finch and Lima.
As for kickers, Hampshire is very good.

I reckon he'll get a testimonial and a new contract with Wigan!thegimble wrote:I reckon he will go to Wire or NRL. I hope you are right and I hope IL has the common sense to realise H is a player worth a top salary. Class players are going to be a scarce commodity in UK RL and if we are outbid for H's services by a UK club I'd be very disappointed.Kittwazzer wrote:I reckon he'll get a testimonial and a new contract with Wigan!thegimble wrote:I reckon he will go to Wire or NRL.
