Re: I cannot bloody believe it
Does it matter who released it when it has been a open secret for weeks.
Get over it and move on as no player is bigger than a club.

Good post A&L I agree with everything bar the Hock statement.ancientnloyal wrote:This is how I see it.
I have been frustrated like most about the whole situation. In my opinion it would have been easier to say earlier in the season during our 27 warm-up matches that Sam is leaving for the NRL and get it over with.
I believe that Sam has kept his silence and honoured what was asked of him from whatever party (be it IL, NZW or Agents etc)and his fate in the public's eyes hasn't been in his own hands but for others to sort out, not him.
Sam is 100% committed to Wigan in his head and loves the club as much as we do but I do believe that as the season wears on his form has dipped with 'injuries' and his head turning towards his future, but I may be wrong. I know that Sam is too big for our sport, that is a reality we have to face, and the standard of SL and the low wages (in comparison) is stopping Sam from reaching his potential. It's inevitable he will leave and do so without remorse from us fans because sadly 'that's the way it is'. All the luck in the world to him.
The farcical thing about this comes from the handling of the matter which others have touched upon. Very inept handling at that and a PR disaster. Thousands of fans are asking what is Wigan's future for 2014 when this could have been sorted months ago, as it stands with 2 or 3 games to go we fans don't know what situation the club will be in come next season with regards to signings, replacements, Sam here or there. IL we fans ARE Wigan RL not just the staff at Central Park, the DW or the players, the club is us. Be more open with us.
And we should have kept Hock and hopefully the truth will come out one day
Re: I cannot bloody believe it
It matters because it is part of an on-going a PR disaster. If you don't think that could affect things like season ticket sales or sponsorship and so the clubs income I think you are mistaken.Whelley Warrior wrote:Does it matter who released it when it has been a open secret for weeks.

It makes the club look badly run and who wants to come to a club that is perceived to be badly run?
You need to look at the wider picture rather than dismissing it as irrelevant who announced it.
As to no player being bigger than the club, I'd like to think the same applies to the chairman. He's got a lot of convincing to do to persuade me we don't need to ship him out along with the players he is selling.
Re: I cannot bloody believe it
Wait a minute who said I wasn't bothered, I'm just not screaming at the computer screen or coming on here complaining (people here were complaining when we won the CC, the same night). My point is simple you cannot effect the situation what so ever so why get worked upgillysmyhero wrote:No offence Kaii but don't bother commenting on people's posts if your not bothered, it's getting a bit silly on here lately with people having little pops at others (probably been guilty myself )Kaii wrote:No one is sniping at him but IL hasn't made the announcement. The question to be asked of you cp is if you cannot change this situation in any way, shape or form why get so worked up about this. This isn't about how much you love the club which is without doubt but like a lot of things in life we cannot effect this at all.cpwigan wrote:DDTFTF is beyond reproach. He is a self made very successful incredibly honest man. Rather than sniping at him focus on our club I.E IL & SW who let this debacle run and run.
For me I'm happy enough just loving the sport and enjoying going to the match home & away, if I started worrying about all aspects of the club it would take away from the love I have for the club. It's not being a happy clapper I just enjoy myself win, lose or draw because I'm supporting the team I love, with the woman I love with my little boy who shares the same love for wigan I do. To me this is more important than if IL announces something or if Sam is thinking about leaving
No offence

I am beginning to suspect that certain people who come on here are supporters of other club's or the Latic's.
Many of the comments in relation to the Owner, Coach and running of the club are not those of most Warriors supporters I know.

ddtftf,FYI i heard the interview over an hour before it was played on WishFM. It wasn't announced by IL, wasn't even within IL's control. It all stemmed from an Aussie journo asking the NZ Warriors coach a question about when Tomkins would arrive. Said coach then dropped a bo**ock by answering the question. Not to mention the fact it's the worst kept secret in the world anyway.
