Sam is over rated IMO. Leeds, Saints and Wire know how to shut him down and he isn't that good at defending.
We will cope without Sam but Pat will leave a big gap.
Young Player of the Year twice!!

For me Pat apart from his playing skills he leads by example and keeps calm under pressure to slot the kicks.

Sam T has yet to make his name. Great player but his perminent record will be made in the NRL as the superior competition. He makes it there he will be an all time great that once played for Wigan. Pat on the other hand came as a good winger, took time to settle and now leaves as an all time great, his name was made at Wigan. Twenty years time he will remembered for the last eight years as the Pat era.

Pat has been a remarkable player for us (forget that iffy first season) and will be mightily missed. Remember that George Carmont was wonderful for us but we have done well this season so we should be able to cope.
BUT........... Sam is gold dust. He is the player that people will be talking about in 10-20-50 years time as a representative of the "Good Old Days."
Treasure him while you can - it might be a while before someone like him comes along again.
His solo try at London (Ok - crap opposition, I know)where he reached over the touchline to hold a penalty and then beat pretty much the entire London team was the kind of memory that won't fade.
I hope he does well and \I also hope that we've got a first option on him should he return to SL. Crazy if we didn't do that.
