I don't want to spoil the fun here, and it may be a fact that MP's are lazy good for nothing, expense fiddling scroungers; but the MP's don't actually get a say in what they get paid, and they didn't opt for a pay rise.
MP's salaries are sent by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority which was created in the wake of the expenses scandal. They were given the job of setting pay, amongst other things, to avoid any chance of impropriety.
The MP's are mostly on board with not actually wanting the pay rise at all, and Cameron is so annoyed by it that he's threatened to disband the authority completely. Let's give a bit of credit where it is due

The majority of MPs in all parties are / were in favour of a pay rise and the average figure each parties MPs believed they should get was higher in the Conservative Party, then the Lib Dems, then the Labour Party. ALL were even higher than the 11% which IMO is clearly an unrealistic figure and begs the question how did they arrive at such a ludicrous figure.
