The same question has now been asked on Wigan World and according to the comments made, it has indeed closed.

No mention of the closure by the local newspaper group both in its newspapers and their website.

Mind you, this comes as no surprise with the way they report anything which is supportive of Whelan, but reluctant to say anything that is negative.

A example of the way they pander to him is illustrated on the sport section of their website. Click on 'sport' and instead of getting general local sports headlines, you get 'Wigan Athletic'.

If the Restaurant was owned by any other person, it would have made headline news by them.

The very idea of a 240 seat fish and chip restaurant in that location was preposterous. I think Whelan tends to pander to his grandson!

Not necessarily. They may just be trying to make the most of some Christmas trade. I've lost count of the number of times I've driven by this year and its been deserted. And I cant see many people wanting to book Christmas meals at a chippy!

Not speculation in my case, just asking a good question in view of the lack of advertising and now no website!
