Can we beat the Roosters?
Where would it rank achievement wise?
WCC Opinions?
Re: WCC Opinions?
I think we can. We're going to have had a full preseason, played 4 friendlies, a league game against Huddersfield and a game in the southern hemisphere against the Warriors. This is their first week of preseason and from what I can find they only have one trial game scheduled before the WCC. We should be more match fit and up to speed than them.
I also think the team and coaches will put more importance on this than their Roosters counterparts. We know we don't need to turn up in the league til September so can afford to base training around this game and it's the one trophy we're missing also to win it in Australia will top any previous Super League winner. The way we turned up in the biggest games last year and the style with which we played, exhausting the other teams through weight of territory and possession gives me hope.
Having said that I'd still make them favourites. The travelling could be too much, we have new players to integrate and they're an awesome team. I think they nilled more teams last year than anyone has in a long time and their squad is pretty settled. Their cap is more than ours and you can tell by looking at the rosters.
If we win it must rank as one of the biggest achievements in the clubs history. To win a WCC in Australia when their cap is almost double ours having lost the best player in the league would be almost unbelievable. I can't wait for it.

Great point you make about the salary cap differential. In my lifetime of watching Wigan I think a victory will surpass any other single achievement by the club, easily surpassing the Broncos victory.

Re: WCC Opinions?
It all depends upon what level of preparation the Roosters have acheived to on match day. A 80% right NRL side is capable of beating any SL team such is the difference in levels between both leagues.
Maybe too many player changes at Wigan will take its toll too as we will have to be at our best to even come close here.
