last yr a few raised brows and shouts of no way myself included when the young Jamie foster was available maybe wouldn't of been a bad move in hindsight ,just a thought

After Matt Smith's kicking on Friday I'll keep my patience a bit longer.
Compared to who we have in the positions Foster would play with the exception of his kicking we'd be playing a donkey!!

Not good enough to displace any of our wingers.

I mentioned on another thread foster is a luxury player if you have a great team 1-17 I'd say yeah his kicking pulls him through but he lacks in too many other areas and we don't have the players around him to make up for it

Danny Brough.
Danny Tickle.

Both good enough to improve the team and improve the kicking IMO. We have a substantial transfer fund (surely!) so we could have got them if we'd wanted them.

We let Tickle go. If he wasn't good enough for us then, I doubt he is now. As for Brough, not sure he would meet Wigan standards and there's got to be a reason he's been at so many clubs!

So what is Jordan James doing in the 1st 17 then?

Surely with Tickle the point is he may not have been good enough for us then but is now because our squad is nothing like as good as it was when he left?

If you like his standing has risen because the quality of SL (and our squad along with it) has fallen.

Is it not now time to recognise the extra work Matty Smith has put in on his goalkicking skills. IIRC, Luke Walsh was top dog in this department early doors. Matty excelled today when Walsh was found wanting!,

Very much. His kicking today was as good as Pat at his best
