Seems high. Possibly had his tackles reviewed 22 times incl no case to answer.

Re: Warrington v Wigan
The only question is how many times has MM directly stopped us from winning a trophy due to ill discipline and the answer is a big fat 0, that's all that matters!! His quality and aggression has helped us win 6 trophies recently, end of discussion!!

Just checked them all.cpwigan wrote:Seems high. Possibly had his tackles reviewed 22 times incl no case to answer.
April 2008,(first incident). Considered an over enthusiastic youngster, lazy high tackle, No Charge.
Feb 2009 1 match
April 2011 Caution
June 2012 1 match wiped out by EGP
September 2012 3 matches
March 2014 3 matches
No Charge for all the rest!
Maybe some of us( me included!) Need to reconsider?

Re: Warrington v Wigan
It's possible to be a massive Micky Mac fan, but also be concerned that, away to Wire when they were all out to niggle (ie a far more potentially violent game than any final) he might have caused us difficulties. Like others have said, when we play the 7 big games this year (with respect to Dewsbury), I want him there in every one. And Lockers. He turns up and gets the job done when it counts, and aside from some ageing Leeds players there is no one else who can do that.
No one has mentioned him, but I think Clubb passed last night's test with flying colours. Hard and discilpined but no mistakes (at least that I can remember). When you consider he's effectively taking Powell's place on the prop rota, we have traded up massively there. And he'll only get better. Incidentally, if things really kick off at any point, he is a man who can loom after himself.
Having watched it again, I want to echo others' views that Burgess and Bateman are wonderfully gifted players who look as if they were born to play the game. They already leave us stronger than we were last year, and have still limitless potential to develop.

I will take your advice Kitt and lend deference to Ted Mac's comments
As to True Blue I raise the white flag and,not retreat but, withdraw tactically. I think you have scored a clear knock out

Jim it is not about winning the argument it is about 2 people having differing opinions which is what a forum is all about, however I tend not to argue unless I know I am right haha
!!
On a serious note, I do agree with you that MM does do some silly things at times but his positives far outweigh his negatives for me. Anyway good thread and discussion and I wasn't calling you foolish but just your view on the fact we should get rid of him, we need him now more than ever!!

His enthusiasm to get involved in the collision

This is a good disciplinary record, compare this to the likes of David Ferrioll, Elima, Westwood and Hock who according to some are not liabilitys.
There is a lot of straw clutching in defence of ones comments. Fair play to the ones who have held there hands up :eusa2: :eusa2:
I really would have MM over Roby, without a good forward platform IMO Roby is pap, MM would be still effective all be it in a defensive capacity.

Re: Warrington v Wigan
Re Roby; I think his halcyon days are gone BUT beware because if the POTB speeds up in SL as they are trying to do in the NRL then scooting 9s will be back in vogue. Hell even Higham receives lots of plaudits these days despite being a poor passer / organiser. If the POTB does speed up a name to watch is Clark at Cas.
Re: Warrington v Wigan
What about when he got himself banned for the playoffs by needlessly belting Anthony Laffranchi right in front of the officials? Not saying this on it's own prevented us from reaching the GF that year but it didn't help the Wigan cause.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:The only question is how many times has MM directly stopped us from winning a trophy due to ill discipline and the answer is a big fat 0, that's all that matters!! MM is a good un, no doubt but he can improve his game by controlling the old red mist and crisper passing.
