Think John was commenting & posting at the same time I was moving & merging it
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Joel Tomkins???
wonder what will happen when koukash has spent all his pocket money on quality players, will he then go for a AUS.coach.

Re: Joel Tomkins???
Apologies for this, but I can't find anything on this.
Does anyone have a link I can use to read more about this?
I'm in two minds about this, if it is true. The youngsters coming through can certain fill the gaps and it have been proven with the recent injuries we have had.
However saying that he was an outstanding player for us. I'll always remember that full length of the pitch try at Wembley!

Re: Joel Tomkins???
I don't remember Joel Tomkins playing badly towards the end of his stay here.
The way I see it is this;
At the time Sarries were after Sam, they engineered a move for Joel to help that to happen. Wigan used the deal to inflate Sams Wage to keep him for a bit longer. We were meant to have this "special" relationship a laughable piece of rhetoric to eventually sway Sam to union to link up with his brother.
Somewhere in all of this Sam went off the idea of union and suddenly was looking across the pond instead.
Joel was still in contention to maybe earn and England spot until Sam Burgess decides he now wants a slice of the yawnion pie. This leaves Joel having made plenty money already in a predicament, his long term future with England assuming he's going against Burgess for position is blocked because there are plenty other yawnion bred players to back up the money man burgess. Club level is a side thought in yawnion.
With Sam gone, Joel could come back and earn a "Sam Size" wage by coming back as a star player and signing, most wigan fans will be happy and it looks good in the papers.
However that's just the way I see it.
In terms of the result itself of us getting Joel back, I liked him when he played for us last time and I think he can still do a very good job for us

No, all that was mentioned was that there was a rumour about it, wires just got crossed somewherewhittlen wrote:Apologies for this, but I can't find anything on this.

The way I see it is "IF" this happens we will be replacing one injured player with another.
Joel is a long way, fitness-wise, from what he was when he left and I would guess it would take a good off-season to get him back to where he was

Re: Joel Tomkins???
Who runs that account? Do they have any links to any actual publications? I'm asking because it could be someone who is inflating a rumour or, if its linked to a proper news source/publication, they wouldn't post it without merit.East Stand Faithful wrote:@RugbyLeagueNews just tweeted

No idea but it is in the rumour mill so I guess you need to make a judgement about the credibility.markill wrote:Who runs that account? Do they have any links to any actual publications? No other sources have reported it other than Sky Sports commenting that it was a rumour - they may have got that from one of the Internet forums though.

Re: Joel Tomkins???
Haha. Thats why I asked, I'm trying to get information to make my mind up. I had seen other Twitter accounts suggesting he was being offered to Wire and Saints by his agent too. That MEN reporter Josie is friendly with (Barker?) hinted at it the other day too, but definitely nothing robust yet.East Stand Faithful wrote: No idea but it is in the rumour mill so I guess you need to make a judgement about the credibility.
