Moran

Post by Ron »

I am surprised that no-one has mentioned Moran's second try. He ran a fair distance down field and even Wakefield's winger, Tadulala, couldn't catch him. After all the criticism of Moran and Orr in recent weeks, I think both their performances last night did them proud. What do you think is the reason why we get so many injuries; are we unfit, badly prepared or is the opposition just too big and powerful for us?

I would say your last point is a big factor. Orr should not have to do as much tackling as he does.

As a consiquence he picks up injures more than he should tackling big men who thers should clobber first.

DaveO: I know stats have been given about our new signings on recent posts, but can you put them all together and give me an idea of the size of these players. Do you think we will have the necessary power next season to overcome our shortcomings of this.

Our pack next year will be one of the biggest ive ever seen at the club and definatley in Super League, our forwards will go well next year, its our centres we need to sort out.

Seems DV needs to get fully fit for next season and we need to sign a quality centre. Aspy and Wild are bench players at best not good enough over a season.

DV will do the job but we do need another center unless dallas is staying in which case we can put in richards

Dallas may be with us next year but that surely will be his last season. What should we do - if we sign an experienced winger for next season would he be happy as stand-in for Dallas. but if we get a centre for next year then we would have two good centres (Richards the other) and would only need to look for a winger after Dallas leaves. It all gets complicated with so many new signings - where do they fit in especially if they can play in several positions. Do you think any of our young players will make the grade. All this experience must be good for them - but it is such a massive job for Millward but I think he will manage it. When he was a Saints it was well known that a lot of his players could play in many positions. You would assume that this will be his strategy at Wigan. I am really looking forward to next season.

Millward had already said that next year we will have the two best wingers in superleague being Dallas and Calderwood and that Pat Richards will play in the Centres. My guess is that when (if)Dallas retires at the end of 2006 Richards may then go out on the wing deppending on whether we can sign a quality centre or winger for 2007. Won't Lyons contract be up then?

Well he needs to really pull his finger out, put in 100% effort and get his positioning and tackling spot on.

Do you think Lyons would want to come to Wigan. What would it take to get him? BTW - nobody has yet mentioned Moran's brilliant second try. What's the matter with you all, can't anyone who has criticised him recently admit it was a gud un
