Yeah - I think Koukash is finding his feet a bit now in the rugby world. He doesn't strike me a niave soul, but I think some agents have took advantage of his relative lack of knowledge of the available players. Why on earth he signed Smith with all his baggage when he had Syned in house is beyond me. Nobby certainly should have known better.
Dobson could complement Chase quite well - he'll be better suited to directing the play and calming things down and let Chase off the reign a bit.
Michael Dobson
Re: Michael Dobson
He was leading points scorer for the Canberra Raiders in 2007 after he left Wigan, is that the sort of lack of improvement you talk about?Whelley Warrior wrote:
When Dobson left Hull K R, he said it was his ambition to play at top level in the NRL, but is now returning to Super League and Salford.
That tells me that the Aussies do not rate him as a top level player and comes as no surprise as he has never improved on the form he showed when at Catalan and the short spell at Wigan.
He could not have stayed at Wigan if he had wanted to. Our quota was full the season after 2006 IIRC.In fact, his biggest mistake was leaving Wigan as I think he would have progressed with a bigger club like ours.
I think it is increasingly obvious that players who you would class as good solid pros as opposed to superstars will go where the money is and for them, that can be SL.
It's why we have Eddie P and there are a number of other good NRL players either already here or heading this way for 2015. Dobson is no different than them.
