So

1) he isn't any better player than the kids we have
2) he doesn't bring experience

So what is the point of giving him any contract regardless of his wage we may as well blood in a few youngsters he offer little quality

If I offered you a poo for 2p regardless of how little 2p is it's 2p more than you would wanna pay for poo

Blocking the likes of Sutton and Greenwood.
How is it going to block any younger prop when it is obvious that with his age, he will only be used in a emergency like he has been this season as a result of injuries to props, and in the case of Greenwood, on loan to London Bronco's.

From what I have seen of him, he is a very fit person and hardly surprising seeing that has been in the Royal Marines.

by my calculations he made 16 apps this season 2 starting and 14 off the bench, thats 16 apps greenwood could of had in our systems

If Waney had deemed Greenwood good enough he would have played, Waney and the boys know what they are doing and thats why they coach the team, where as you, i and the mouthpiece don't and thats why we don't coach Wigan RL.

greenwood again has had better stats in terms of meter making than james in a team that has been bottom dwellers

ive no issues with james if someone can actually identify what quality he brings other than "being cheap"

If he is cheap as chips, and only then, keep him.
Looking to next year, having seen Clubb's improvement, and with Crosby another year older, I would back a combination of Taylor, Clubb, Flower, Crosby and Pettybourne against any other combination of props (ESP with Peacock another year older). I would like us to bring back Greenwood and let Dudson go, and give Sutton and Austin more exposure. We also have Tautai who could play there in extremis. As an 8th prop able to soak up punishment in place of the younger lads, it makes perfect sense. It's not as if anyone is pretending he would be anywhere near the first choice starting 17.

How is he blocking Greenwood, who is getting a lot of game time as a front line prop that he wouldn't get at Wigan?
We have already identified if you were to play him instead of james he would of had 16 appearances. Not only that he would have 16 appearences in the system he will be hoping to keep to - far more valuable than getting battered every week in cr@p team
He has had years in the awigan way.
Sutton is, what, 19. How much game time is good for him?
Sutton and Greenwood could of shared the role that james has played thus not overloading either
James has played a lot
,

I thought he was there just for emergency?
and made a lot of tackles and drives up the middle that no one else can make.
If you really believe this then we should ship out all the youngsters now because if they cant do the same job as a 35 year old never was, they wont make the grade
You make the point about him being cheap, as if that should be discounted, but actually it is key. I say that if he is cheap, and we think we need a big lump to soak up punishment, while the 7 props in front of him develop, then that makes sense. I don't see how anyone an get worked up either way on this.
ok then i have a mate who is a wigan fan, who is about 19st he'll play for wigan for a bag of chips and a wagon wheel - job done!

Plus does anyone ACTUALLY know he is cheap, i mean for 100% have you seen his wage? i havent, the fact your all guessing he is cheap is invariably because he is pap! and he wouldnt get a playing role anywhere else.

You clearly feel very strongly negatively about this. I can't see the drama but respect your opinion. I can see how someone could argue that, on balance, it isn't the way to go, but it seems an odd thing to get so worked up over.
