However, on reading this thread, I'm having a rethink. I enjoy watching Super League and if Wigan have a home game against the likes of say London when Saints v Leeds is on TV, I'd swerve the Wigan game and watch the match in the pub.

Presumably others are thinking along the same lines?
More than likely, only the ones who claim to be supporters!

The New Era Q&A has been updated by rfl, including the following:

Q. As clubs will not know how many home games they have in a given season at the start of the year, how will this impact on season ticket sales?

A. Most Super League and Championship clubs are likely to offer a season ticket/membership scheme that secures admission to 14 home matches: 11 games from the regular season plus three Super 8s fixtures. Many of the clubs will also offer a ‘free’ 15th home game on the season ticket should they have four home Super 8s fixtures, although the nature and terms of this offer is likely to vary between individual clubs.

That seems a sensible way to do it. Although I've been quite critical of the new set up I must admit from that article finishing top does give a big advantage in the 8 team extension.

1st play 2,3,5,6 home- 4,7,8. away.
2nd play 3,4,6,7 home- 1,5,8. away.
3rd play 4,5,7,8 home-1,2,6 away.
4th play 5,6,8,1 home- 2,3,7 away.
5th play 6,7,2 home- 1,3,4,8 away
6th play 7,8,3 home-1,2,4,5 away
7th play 8,1,4 home- 2,3,5,6 away
8th play 1,2,5 home- 3,4,6,7 away.
