Realist with a touch of blind faith
my blind faith comes in because i cant read the season anymore you cant tell if the teams have the desire to finish top regardless of PR
Realism - well ive said it on another thread but i think Wane has loosened his grip on the team they seem less "driven". The team has become very young and that must be harder to control - i remember reading Rads Autobiography him mentioning some of the attitude of the "kids" and the more we load up on youth the harder it will be to produce the correct attitude but that is my opinion.

Re: Blind faith or realist?
I have said it all along, I want a coach in charge of Wigan that helps us win things, if that is Shaun Wane then great, if it is not then so be it. I am not in the group that thinks SW is flawless but due to his success last season I think he deserves my support till the end of this season, whatever that may bring. If we win the GF then great he deserves to keep his job, however if he doesn't then maybe we look somewhere else, as 2 trophy less seasons with him or anyone else in charge is unacceptable. I do however believe that some of the criticism on here towards SW is absolutely ridiculous and way OTT!!

Good point - I always thought his influence was understated with the combinations and defensive patterns he ran with the Backs. Don't think his plans and methods have been totally replaced since his departure.cpwigan wrote:Iestyn Harris ?

Realist
Last August Wane was resting players and rotating with the Cup final in mind and play offs after. Results were poor at times but we knew we had quality to come back in.
This season we have been hot and cold and getting colder we have a virtually full squad now and we lose to Widnes and HKR.
This season we are average at best and we will not make the GF

On top of this last 3 seasons we have let too much talent out the door. Unacceptable!
SW will last one more season then go. Dont think IL is any good for the clubs future either.
Re: Blind faith or realist?
The play offs are a knockout competition so blind faith says anything can happen.
The realist in me says we will get knocked out in the 1st round because Wane and the team just aren't good enough.
Yes we had some bad form last year around this time of the season but prior to that we had the cup in the bag and early on in the season had put some very good performances together. Sides were afraid of us despite the dip in form at this time.
They are not now.
HKR and Widnes etc all fancy their chances and quite right too. Leeds, Hudds, Wire and Saints won't have any concern at all playing us.

Why was Harris record with Wales in the World cup so very poor.cpwigan wrote:Iestyn Harris ?
The teams Wales faced weren't world beaters by any means. Italy, USA and Fiji.
I have seen nothing in Harris that makes me think that he is or has been a good coach, but I haven't studied him like others maybe have.
