Saints Wigan was massive in the 50s,20,000 per side. There were massive punch ups .but no deaths, continuously.Bit like football in recent times, but now on much smaller numbers. 50 YEARS LATER, we need the keep the rivalry going, but not the lunacy bordering on bigotory of some elements of either side. The public declarations by Wigans management ,of continuing claiming WE HATE ST HELENS sounds like something from lord of the rings, and we know whatTolkein was warning about. The Flower incident serves Wigan right.IL needs to exercise some authority ,not inane platitudes,ie we are all in this together.First thing ,get Radders to talk to the press.Second Set some priorities, and husband resources accordingly.Tell the fans it was a poor year, and I,IL, have told the management It was not acceptable to me. Come On Wigan.

The words Pie Eaters was instigated in the early 1920s miners strike , Stains miners called Wigan miners the name because they broke the strike ( one main reason being children where actually starving )so they had to 'eat umble pie'.

i for one will always hate Stains and not just for Rugby reasons i will leave it there
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White

I may be repeating myself, but I think there is nothing they would prefer to us going in all fists flying. They took stock after our performance at the Magic Weekend, where we rattled a superior side sufficiently to stage a smash and grab run, and then adopted a wind up and moan strategy at the DW to great effect. They went out with the same intent in the GF, which achieved its goal 2 minutes in. If Flower had kept his head we would have clearly been champions. Now, they can provoke and moan all they like, hoping that we snap again.
Control and composure are what's required. Let's see if Wane can add that string to his bow.
