So we've got a NZ'er controlling the NZ v Samoa match and an Ozy taking charge of the Oz v England game. Something smells fishy. If the NZ ref is deemed fit for purpose then why can he not ref the neutral game?

The problem Cummings has is he was the person and to the best of my knowledge argued(s) that neautral referees were not needed and that referees should be able to officiate their home towmn / country.

Thing is when they come here they still get everything their own way . It's a joke.

Exactly, I dont know why other countries put up with it. Its a joke and makes the game a laughing stock.

A coach can comment on referees and the way the game goes all he likes without being fined.
He can't criticise referees, that will cost a fortune.
Tony Smith is very good at the former and doesn't pay a penny. Justin Morgan never got it right and he'd franked envelopes addressed to Red Hall for his fines.

Funny that they call us whinging Poms but they don't do too bad themselves if you think about the number of times they have objected to referees for international matches. Maybe they have never got over Steve Ganson awarding that penalty try in the world cup final match against NZ after Joel Monaghan took out Lance Hohaia

The Aussies and their refs have been doing this for decades. Trouble is the RFL allow them to continue year after year.
They should be sorting referees for the NZ series right now with the Kiwis so that they are announced when the dates and venues are known.
