Well what a surprise with that statement, not. It's complete B/S of course. The only reason he is back here is it didn't work out there. He is not coming back to Wigan having seen on the back of success.

This is good fortune (if his shoulders are OK) not some masterstroke of foresight and good planning. IL must think we are all stupid.

Whether it was a success or not in the NRL is not important, what is important is that on his return to SL he rejected offers from other SL clubs to come back to Wigan. So IL is right it is a positive move from Wigan to ensure we had first refusal.

God wrote:Not so sure why everybody thinks this is a negative appointment, Wigans medical staff know him far more than any other club. We have adequate cover for him if a long term injury does occur, and if nobody has read this, there is provisions in Lees contract protecting us from the salary cap.

If it comes off he is in the top 5 best props in the league no question, nobody can argue against that. He is prob in the top 3 best defensive prop too. Would you sooner have Leeds/Warrington et all have him?

The arguement is Taylor....Taylor DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR US, why are we hooked up on him? However with the appointment of Mossop Taylor's attitude may change, after all Mossop was his best friend at the club together they called themselves "Team Birdcage" it's only positive.

Why so narrow minded regarding a players fitness?
I am glad he chose to come back to Wigan. Regarding Taylor that boat has gone no way back for him now.I know Hull want him next season but I think Wigan will let him go now and release him from his 1 year extension. Dudson also to go.Imo they will also let Pettybourne go and bring a youngster through to keep salary cap right.

He spent time on loan at Barrow and Huddersfield early on in his career.

Made his Wigan debut in 2008 against Pia Donkeys in the Challenge Cup, Wigan won the game 74-4.

A good signing IMO. As another post alluded to, we have adequate cover if long term injury occurs again. Much rather have him at Wigan than at rival clubs such as Leeds etc. Mossop is well up there with the best in terms of his defensive abilities IMO.
With regards to Taylor, is it just a case of he wants to move back to the Hull area because he can't settle in Wigan? Or is there something more to it as to why he doesn't want to be at Wigan?

Of course his success or lack of it in the NRL is important. You'd have to be incredibly naive to think he'd be back here if he had been successful.

After two shoulder operations there isn't a club daft enough to pay a fee to release him from any Wigan obligations so in that negative sense IL's scheme has worked.

If you remember that first refusal clause lapsed after a couple of years so given his NRL career ended before it got started that is Wigan's good fortune, not was what expected to happen (unless you expected him to fail).

If he had come back here off the back of a completed NRL contract at the top of his game then IL might have a point but as I said the first refusal would have lapsed by then anyway.

Instead he has come back having been released early after two shoulder operations and IL is trying to sell this as the system working. Give over.

Nothing against Lee but i think Dom as done as good if not better job for us than Lee

So who will have to make way for him or is he going to come off the bench as an interchange
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White
