Re: Bateman
I've heard it as well but don't know how true it is.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Bateman
Bateman hasn't looked the happiest of players in a Wigan shirt and his intensity seemed to drop off but wasn't sure if this was down to a niggling injury.
Potentially another very good player who could be on his way out of Wigan, but where to. Is he homesick or is it just a better offer from other clubs like Warrington, Salford or even Leeds.

51 miles away, give or take a few. If he is homesick, then I would suggest some kind of psychological counselling.pedro wrote:wheres he from?
If £££, then the farce that is the salary cap. Could end up like the NRL where you lose track of who is playing for who.
Maybe a spell in a job where paid hourly might do the trick. :eusa17:
Re: Bateman
Hope this isn't true. Him and Taylor were potentially our two best signings in recent times - real ones for the future that could have a very long career at the club.

I too, hope it is not true, but if it is, I suspect his thinking about leaving started with the re-signing of Joel Tomkims which demoted him to the subs bench.Mike wrote:Hope this isn't true. Re: Bateman
Cracking young player one that we need to retain at all cost.I certainly don't buy this home sickness business it's not like Yorkshires a million miles away is it.What with the loss of Taylor who reputedly was also home sick this kind of thing tells me that the Yorkshire players are tied to mums apron strings and should not be allowed out without a dummy let alone venture into Lancashire.I hope we see the lad in cherry and white for many more years to come. But talking to his aunty in Fuerteventura last year she said he was happy at wigan. So it's a case of who do you believe.
Re: Bateman
Ahh so that's why he modeled the "away" shirt and not the home shirt. Good cryptic clue Batty

Re: Bateman
KOOCH Does Bateman have a position /?To me he looks a terrfic all round player ,but where?Thats why I was hoping he might be slotted in as our second no 9.Otherwise he is another Wane bibs and bobs player. Not big enough or fast enough for Wigan.. OL is not retiring as well.
