Wolves lift ban on e-cigs at Halliwell Jones after signing new sponsorship deal
WARRINGTON Wolves will now be able to smoke an electric cigarette after the club lifted its ban.
It coincides with a new sponsorship deal which will see Truvape take over sponsorship of the South Stand.
Wolves branded e-cigs will also be on sale in the Wolves shop.
Smoking electronic cigarettes was previously banned at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
A club spokesman said: "Wolves’ decision to reverse the vaping ban follows a similar decision by the O2 Arena in 2013, when they teamed up with another e-cigarette brand and reversed their own vaping ban, allowing their guests the ability to vape without having to leave the O2 grounds."
Alex Wilson, Wolves’ commercial manager, said: “We are firmly committed to helping our fans make informed choices, particularly when it comes to health and fitness.
"Obviously the best option is to never smoke at all, but as a percentage of our fans are already smokers, we are pleased to be able to encourage them to consider switching to alternatives by allowing vaping in certain areas of the stadium, as well as providing a branded vapouriser that can be purchased on site.
“We initially introduced the vaping ban as a ‘just in case’ measure, but are now happy to reverse this as more news on the industry comes to light.
"The fact that more than two million people in the UK alone have already converted to vaping shows that this is an industry that is here to stay.
“We believe this partnership, with a reputable brand like TRUVAPE – known for their attention to safety and adherence to regulations - will help our fans enjoy a better matchday experience, and provide those who smoke with an alternative that experts believe has the potential to hugely reduce harm.”
Lee Bryan, M.D. of TRUVAPE, added: “We are very excited about this partnership.
"The synergy between Wolves and TRUVAPE in terms of both branding and fan base is excellent.
"We are looking forward to working with Warrington Wolves in helping their fans make the conversion from smoking to vaping”.

Looks like Warrington are just interested in sponsors money & not the health of supporters ????
I thought my e-cigarette was a miracle. Turns out, I was smoking the equivalent of 40-a-day'
When Rachael Lloyd took up vaping, she thought she'd stumbled across a miracle alternative to smoking. Little did she know, her e-cigarette wasn't quite as guilt-free as she'd assumed - as the World Health Organisation is now starting to realise
When my local chemist told me to stop vaping immediately, or risk seriously damaging my health I thought he must be having a mad half hour.
Kindly Mr Patel has always struck me a cautious man. It seemed ridiculous that he was making such a fuss.
I just couldn’t grasp that something as innocuous as an e-cigarette, widely regarded as the safe alternative to real cigarettes – and commonly used by smokers to quit - could come with any lasting health risks.

Good on you warrington for officially allowing fans to use electric cigs. Ive been vaping for past 2 years and i feel healthier than i did on cigarettes. Dunno why stadiums would want ban it anyway as you can easily get away with it. I used it a numerous of stadiums last year wheather it was in toilet or sat at my seat or standing. Vape is just like steam out of a kettle imo

I am a non smoker. E-Cigs have been around for a while but I rarely see many people with them. I presumed they would be a fad and many of the businesses selling them would close. Is that not the case?
Again as a non smoker I hate cigarettes. Both my parents smoke(d) heavily and the one thing I learned from them is you can either give up or you cannot. One parent was a huge smoker and just said one day I will stop and he did. The other tried all these fads to give up and never has.

Many more sensible clubs have banned them!
And as someone who watched a relative die in front of me from Lung Cancer as a result of smoking 'coffin nails', I fully agreed with the comments of cpwigan.

I have non smoking related lung disease due to my illness that affects all my major organs. I developed pneumonia in both lungs & was seriously ill, enough so, that I missed two Wigan Warriors games away from homeWhelley Warrior wrote:Many more sensible clubs have banned them!

I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke & passive smoking whether cigarettes or e cigarettes is very selfish of the people that use either or. That someone cannot manage without, for one hour & twenty minutes is a sad reflection on their self control.
