Re: THE REASON WE LOST
Really? I thought BB were totally out on their feet for the last 20 minutes. If they had been fit I'm not sure the game would have been anywhere close.

Re: THE REASON WE LOST
We, like all British sides play dumb rugby, the sideways movement is poor unless the other team is on the back foot, but we don't have the rugby brains to play possession football, under maguire we were conservative but effective, Wane insists on the lateral play. The game was played in a swamp, it was a game for 5 good drives and hold them there, Brisbane made us look amateurish again. It showed the level of the NRL vs super doper league, Brisbane ground that out, and taught us a lesson, but if the scouser beat the bunnies tomorrow, Hemings will need a huge box of kleenex
There are 10 types of people, those who get binary and those who dont!
Re: THE REASON WE LOST
I thought we matched them in all areas. Forwards, despite mostly youngsters (bateman is still young, as is Crosby (ISH)) easily matched BB. Backs were fine, Matty Smith looked a captain in all but title.
Very even game, would have been much better on a decent pitch.
TBH, and I said it at full time (to myself only admittedly) a draw should have remained a draw.
One minus, Clubb, dumb penalty, its becoming tedious.

Re: THE REASON WE LOST
No composure and stupid play at the wrong time. We should have won tonight, as Warrington should have last night. Both Brisbane and St George were there for the taking and poor play and poor tactics stopped the English sides winning.
Re: THE REASON WE LOST
It wasn't lack of fitness but the fact we put ourselves under so much pressure for the first 15 minutes of the second half. We had set after set to defend and for the most part it was due to errors we found ourselves in that position starting with Budgie dropping the ball again..Wigan Watcher wrote:To many mistakes but that aside we were not as fit as them and not as strong
I was quite hopeful at half time the Broncos would run out of steam and they did tire but we managed to even that up and could not take advantage as we were also tired.

Joel Tomkins penalty
Re: THE REASON WE LOST
I felt the same. Not because we lost but because it was just in my view a poor spectacle and contrived. One team trots up one end, has a drop goal attempt. Other team does the same. Bit of a farce really.Jules wrote:

Mind you I that said I thought our attempt from the right side was ridiculous. Logan Tomkins sent the ball wide when had he looked Brisbane were the furthest on-side they had been all night and if he had just run straight he'd have got a free 10 meters and have got a far better position.
