Sam T @ 6 for 2016?

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

i hope that salford saying hes no longer a priority is true and not a double bluff, sadly the Dr is much more happy to do dodgy extra deals outside the salary cap than we are likely to be

Sam's returning to Superleague, surely he'll be back in cherry and white next season?

from sky:

Tomkins admits a return to Wigan appeals, but he is not ruling out signing for one of their Super League rivals.

“I’ve not worked that out just yet,” he said. “My first thing was to sort it out over here that I could go back but as far as who I’d be playing for. I’m not too sure just yet. Hopefully that will be sorted in the not too distant future.

“That’s where my brothers play (Wigan) and that’s where I’m from but I’m open to other places. As it’s happening, I’m just figuring out what’s going to be the best option for me.

“Wigan would be nice, but I know it’ not the only team I can go to.”

Before he left Wigan Tomkins said he couldn't ever see himself playing for another Superleague team.

Should all Sam Tomkins topics not be merged into one and put in "General Rugby Leaugue" until we know when and who he is signing for?

i would hope this is just to get a better contract however if you look at it from a players point of view

he has achieved everything he can in superleague with wigan. so unless we gave him captaincy another club would give him more of a challenge

saying that i really hope IL pulls out all the stops to get tomkins back; he will draw more fans in and might be what wigan need in attack.

plus image all three tomkins brothers on the pitch at the same time.

It would be unthinkable if ST didn't sign for Wigan.
But, in this day and age, where money speaks louder than words, who knows?
Of course there is always the loyalty factor: but ST doesn't seem to talking about that.
Me, personally, could only re-sign for Wigan. But.....I'm from the Old School.

Loyalty doesn't come into it this day and age. Cash is king. A sportsman only has a short career. I bet the Doc has something up his sleeve, perhaps name a racehorse after him

"Wigan have first option on Tomkins" if he returns to Superleague.
What does first option mean in a scenario like this?
Loyalty is questionable with his comments, but maybe its just his way of trying to hike up his salary with Wigan as his first choice?
