Sam T @ 6 for 2016?

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Sorry cpwigan - I usually agree with most of the things you post - but I think this is over the top! Do you know Sam - or indeed his mum to be able to make this comment??

As a mum I would never be able to up sticks so far away from the rest of my kids just because one of them was homesick (especially if one of the others was getting married and having their first baby themselves). I can't believe that it would be that easy for Sam's mum either as you make out.

As a daughter I would never ask my mum to up sticks and leave the rest of my family for just me! And I can't believe that Sam would do that either and that could be just one of a million reasons.

Is it too hard to believe that he misses more than just his mum??? He has other family, friends etc that he could be missing and so what if he gets more acknowledgement here so would rather be in the UK?? He tried it - made the most of it while it lasted - and then got out when the time was right for him.

Wouldn't you? I know I would.

If Japanese Rugby Union offered Sam silly money then come what may Sam would have gone to Japan. The only reason he became homesick was because it was convenient financially to Sam and the NRL was too tough for him.

If Sams parents were going through what they were when he decided to go to NZ I personally wouldn't have gone but maybe I am odd as I put family first, before money.

Nah, I don't believe for one minute NRL was too tough for Sam. I'm with him on the homesick point of view.

Being overseas can be difficult to mix with people, some get over it and others don't.
I remember Morley mentioning how alienated he was made to feel for the first season or so then he was accepted.
That was in Australia and not New Zealand which I think is still in a seventies type era.

Judging by this statement, I assume you believe that Sam put himself out to offers and Lenegan outbid all other interested parties?
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."

No I said if somebody had come along with silly money for Sam T, homesickness would have never been mentioned or materialised.

Sam does not like being knocked about hence why he plays full back and even in that position Sam will offload the hard carry to his winger. The NRL was too tough / too difficult and he looked IMO at maximising the financial return for the remainder of his RL career and opted to return. Oh I forgot with the added bonus he cured his home sickness :with:

No idea if he did or did not and there is the added complication of £400,000 from the transfer fee. I do believe Sam T will be announced as a Wigan player. Here;s hoping he completes a contract after failing to honour his previous two.
