Comments about him aren't too good. a) Eking out money at the end of his career b) Injury shot
Don't know about him myself? Any thoughts?

Kurt gidley is a VERY overrated NRL player.although he's played origin he has never settled in any position or excelled in any.not bothered who he signs for as long as it's not Wigan.ive watched him most of his career and never understood why he's rated highly( unlike his brother who I rated very highly).

From the reports I've read, the implications were that we'd signed Sam with the knowledge/understanding that the marquee player rule was coming into effect - therefore Sam is our marquee signing, no?

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Sam Burgess
Re: Marquee Signing
if only dreams come true would love him and IL would get all the money back in season ticket sales and bums on seats. Its always a good commercial deal with a player like this ( see St Helens crowds when they signed Mal Maninga ) they made a profit on the outlay for the player.
Re: Marquee Signing
I'd rank him similar to Bowen. Good standing in the game, some great moments but never really broke into being that top tier player. Always just behind the best. Could do a job in Super League but doubt he'd be an influence medium to long term. One season signing for someone I'd reckon. Saints is a decent bet.KaylaRobbo wrote:Topic on Twitter today is that Kurt Gidley (?!?) is rumoured to be coming to SL.

Burgess to Warriors would really put bums on seats. Puzzled by his comments in Friday's Mail that Union players give spin passes.(bullet passes) whereas inRL he was used to end over end passes???! I seem to recall Henry Paul saying,on his return from Bath they didn't know what a bullet pass was.
