Saints have announced the signing of Shannon McDonnell until the end of next season.
The 27-year-old full back joins from Wests Tigers where he has been since he last played for the champions.
Shannon joined Saints at the latter part of the 2014 campaign and played in three games before fracturing his jaw.
“It’s clear with Jonny Lomax out for the season and Paul Wellens currently sidelined that we need cover at full back as well as in the backs,” Saints Chief Executive Mike Rush said. “Shannon can cover a number of positions and we’d like to thank Phil Moss at Wests Tigers and his agent Steve Gillis for making it happen.

disingenuous
It would appear so given the timescale involved in signing SM. I would imagine that Saints have been aware of LH's decision for some time and the only issue has been a discussion around the level of pay off.

Grand Final punch victim Lance Hohaia forced to retire because of 'recurrent concussion-type symptoms
How bad is that? As someone said, he's already played eight games this season. The new concussion rules would not have let him play any of these games if he was suffering in any way from 'concussion'!
Is he & the media determined to make Ben Flower pay for the rest of his career for one moment of madness in a grand final??
I'm fuming over this
Josie - don't get angry, get even! That's what I am hoping Wigan do this season i.e. put the record straight.

Have Saints breached the concussion rules, if so they should be 'hammered' by the RFL! If they were Salford they would be relegated
Saints maybe looking to sign a player under the Marquee Signing rule that could be introduced.
Although the MS's salary will be part exempt from the salary cap, the very considerable money will still have to be paid in full to the the said player.
Saints finances haven't been to great these past years and they may have to unload a few to balance the books.
Hohaia going and McDonnell arriving should be the start of freeing up some money for them.

LH is Saints Jerry Seu Seu a sacrificially lamb to be got rid off to allow another player in.
Flower and the concussion is a convenient excuse to get rid of LH and get a much needed Full Back.
