Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Many years ago a cousin of mine (my Dad was the youngest in a very large family so I have lots of older cousins) lost her husband in similar circumstances.
They had not been married long, he seemed fine one minute and simply dropped dead.
When they did the post-mortem the conclusion was they were surprised it had not happened long before then. Arteries totally furred up if I recall correctly.
When things like that happen out of the blue to young, seemingly fit people it is very hard on those left behind. More so in my view than if someone dies after a long illness.
Everything to look forward to and then that happens. Deepest Sympathies to his family and friends.

This does appear to be happening more often these days, with Professional sportsmen in general. In the news only last week, the same kind of thing happened to a rugby union player (not top grade so no recollection of name/club).
But heartfelt condolences to both his family and the Keighley club and it's good to see the fans' fundraising efforts.
