Its not a sad say as he has done very little in SL to justify any of the praise CP is putting upon him. Powell can play 2-3 roles and more importantly cover Hooker
(/quote)

So can Smith, allowing Rocky to be given the chance to play at 6 and George at 7.
Many are willing to allow one of our prized assets to leave and return to cause havoc.
Amazes me that Smith our most experienced half needs to move to keep some wet dream of the dream duo alive. Smith and Williams are becoming a very good SUPER LEAGUE partnership. So we risk it on a player who added very little to our attack never mind his poor defending.

If been a good prospect was all it needed Shaun Ainscough would be starting for the Souths side by now. Academy level is not a a barometer of how great your career is going to be.

Williams has really developed and this is by playing with experience and you want Wane to risk it on a player who is not proven anything in SL.

Got to ask the question are people really blinded by if they are Wigan Youth they are an Immortal before even putting on the shirt.

He needs it to get the experience and develop.

Wane was questioned re why Williams was at 6 and we did not get some one in. Williams and Smith combination is working well. And is most importantly is improving.

Wane might have had his hand forced on choosing between Williams and Rocky but he made the right choice.

Hmm good use of the English language Gimble,Rocky has not been outstanding is because he,s been playing out of position in my opinion. When was the last time he played at 7? Answer non yet we persever with Smith who at best is an average halfback with a poor kicking game.He has however been hooking in his previous clubs.

Is Rocky not a 6 and Williams a 7?

I may be having a senior moment here but IIRC we have seen Rocky at halfback for the first team in two games for a limited spell this year, a friendly (Leigh I think)and one game where everyone else was sick/ injured making Wane start with him and he had blinders until Wane moved him to fb or replaced him.

Now someone tell me I must have dreamt it.

Playing out of position or not he is making big errors which in SL you get punished for against decent sides. Lets say kick off comes Smith quite a few times fields them i would have no confidence in Rocky in doing so.

Wane would be an idiot to change the combination now and start meddling with something that is working. And given the new SL structure you can not risk putting out a weaken side anymore. If and when he gets his chance Rocky will have a few games to claim the shirt.

Interesting posts I never realised Rocky was so awful this season or even before. Can anybody tells me why he was so awful? Identify key games / moments etc?

Gimble which halfback had the better game today? George or Matty? Did Matty make any glaring errors?
