We know loyalty doesn't exist when money talks but to lay down and say "that's jolly well done, I'm with you all the way":doesn't come out of my book.
Exactly, loyalty this days does not exist and too many now in League are now never satisfied with what they get and even go to the extent of lowering themselves in Union to get more money on the excuse they have a short career.

Greedy people in my book and before anyone says that union players did the same coming to our game, they came for far less and bettered themselves in Rugby League as Union at the time was not what it is now with Leagues, Cup competitions and massive sponsorships as a result of the 'Gin & Tonic' brigade turning full circle and accepting that players be paid after condemning Professionalism for over a century which led to the birth of our game.

I go to work for money, nothing more, nothing less.
Anybody who says they don't is a liar. The fact that I enjoy my job is a bonus, nothing more.
Now what do you do Whelley and do you get paid well or peanuts? Does your employer view you having a snotty nose and taking a day off as OK or do you get a black mark?
Your comments would be very interesting given your pontifications about loyalty and greed concerning other folk!!!!
BTW good luck to Deacs for now and the future, given the situation only a halfwit would turn it down.

Deacon's first loyalty is to himself and his family.
If rumours are anything like correct that Sale have far more than doubled his salary then surely he is duty bound almost to take the job.
His family will be much better off with the move.

So according to you, it's not about players and coaches moving to Union for money, but to be more successful!

Since when has any Union club, especially Sale ever been more successful than Wigan?

The fact that someone gets offered a lot more money/salary package IMO, would generally mean that that person has been successful in his career. At least thus far.

If in the next 10 years Sale wins more than us WW then he will be right.

If that happens will personally walk down King Street in a thong, ginger wig signing My Way in Russian whilst eating an egg.

Funnily enough it does from the horses mouth as I spoke to Jonathan Davies only a couple of weeks or so after signing for Widnes as he was working for Hertel on the site where I was working. I asked him why he'd made the move and what his thought's were about League in comparison to union.
I didn't expect him to mention the money and he didn't, he just simply said that he wanted to prove himself with the challenge of Rugby League and was quite shocked when Dougie Laughton told him he had to put on 1.5 stones in weight and become 10m faster. Davies did also say that he was a good self motivator.
I have mentioned these details on this site previously as a result of meeting Davies with his move from Union to Widnes.
Fair enough but he was hardly going to say "I'm up here for the money" was he? :D :D
Yeah, thought that too. He was working as a rep for Hertel, which suggests he was topping up a wage with the Rugby League.

More than double his salary?

If that is true which I doubt very much, than watch out for a stampede to Union.

For once take off the cherry & white rose tinted goggles. SCs meaning of Being successful in your career is the size of your pay packet.

That is what we all go to work for, Simples !
Not all, only the greedy sods today as illustrated by those on a cushy number who on reaching retirement carry on working and preventing younger people from having a job.

Greed today comes before job satisfaction for many!

p.s. and you have to make sarcastic comments about wearing cherry & white tinted goggles to anyone who does not agreed with how you and your fellow cronies on here think?

Deacon is not particularly old and he simply cannot be blamed for taking a TRIPLE pay rise. To me it beggars belief the holier than thou attitude of some.

I guess Edwards, Faz and Owen, Mick and George Ford, Chris Ashton, Sam Burgess are all the same. To be honest a league fan taking such a stance is actually worse than how Unions fans behaved pre professionalism.
