Don't look back in anger. We need to be seeking young players with lots of improvement in them and retaining them on long-term contracts not looking at 30+ players. Then again, we should not have let him go.

When HH left didn't we sign Bateman?
One very good player is John Bateman.

It looks as though he is leaving along with Patterson. With the interchange rule to be changed in 2017 he may be useful if he bulked up as a prop. He's still a very good defender and can drive the ball up effectively. I suppose it would depend on his salary demands.

Think he's off to Leigh!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I agree. Even going back to Dennis Betts, I can't think of a single one who's returned to us a better player than when he left. I'm just hoping Sam bucks the trend but his injury record at NZW does not inspire!cpwigan wrote:Keep reading these rumours re H returning. PLEASE GOD NO. Been told that he isn't happy (no surprise there) and that Wigan haven't spoken to him but Paul Rowley has been having chats with him. Nothing concrete yet though.

Re: H NO THANKYOU
If we took him now it would have to be on a smaller deal than what he was on before he left. With the three second rowers we already have, he won't be worth as much to us as he would be to other clubs. So I don't think we will be in the market. Widnes could need a back rower, Tickle getting older and more injury prone, not sure if Clarkson has been signed up for next year. But like Josie I've seen the Leigh rumour knocking about.
