Wigan's academy always gets top marks from the RFL when they audit the club.

The schools and amateur clubs in Wigan do a fantastic job in producing a large number of good young players. The club can's sign them all up for the academy and thus some will end up elsewhere. The club has a strategic plan in place to look at what positions will need to be filled by players coming through in 5-7 years time. Rads outlined this in the last fan's forum. Subsequently some 15/16 year old talent will be missed (late developers) or others signed in preference to fill gaps in the future.

Of those players signed up to the academy many will not make the first team and end up at Championship clubs. Some of these players may be late developers and come back to haunt us, but that is a situation caused by the RFL replacing the U18's and U21's with a single U19's competition.

I can't remember whether it was Lowe or Monie who said you are lucky to get two first team quality players a year through the academy so I think we are doing reasonably well.

I do agree that some of our signings haven't been a success but that has always been the case. The salary cap prevents us from having the star studded team of the glory years so some signings will just be squad players, some of whom may improve under our coaching. With the current exchange rates and massive difference in salary caps the days of signing Aussie stars are over.

a few people are suggesting I am a fake account or troll - I am not bothered it just tickles me - I sometimes have hard time getting my point across over the forum as its text and I have a hard time understanding peoples tone due to the text - no worries anyway its all fun and rumours!!

I am not going change my opinions :devi:

As for Jack Hughes, it looks like done deal from reading other boards around.
